Night sweats and a fan. What is your setup?

20 months in to this and my set up has been a simple desktop fan on my dresser set on medium pointed at my chest. I have a remote on my nightstand for on/off. And a Terry cloth towel to throw over my pillow to try and keep it dry.Anyone got a better idea?

I used a clip on model on my headboard right above my head. I could just reach up and turn it on/off as the flushes came and went. Whatever gets you through the night, so says John Lennon.

My Ceiling fan is a "Smart Device" controlled by Alexa .. so when I feel a hot flash coming on, I flip off my covers and say "Alexa.. Turn on Master Fan"! and Boom Shakalaka .. a nice breeze comes down from the sky... LOL.. when I feel my body temp has regulated.. I ask Alexa to "Turn off Master Fan" and back to sleep I go...until the next episode.. which sadly is about an hour of so later... :( I've been on Lupron since 2015 but I'm still here... fighting the beast since 2010 .. Surgery, Salvage radiation, and every other form of SOC that has been available .. Now on Ra-223 hopefully I will get another year or more.. Peace.. Keep up the good fight!

Had a vertical fan with remote right beside my bed. Every 2 hours had a flash. Woke up, throw sheets off, grab remote from under pillow, turn on fan (always set at high), after flash turn fan off, remote under pillow, sheets on, all without opening my eyes so i can get back to sleep! But the only thing that really works is estradoil patch. Lots of info on this site about it. Get your doc to prescribe it for you. Good luck.

Yes, thanks for reminding me I need to research that patch. Has it worked for you?

Yes it has. I tried accupunture, chinese herbs, venlafaxine (which helped a little), etc. etc. The only thing that worked for me is the patch. Also has some other benerficial effects like bone health. My Dr was reluctant at first but he approved it and is now pretty positive about it.

Is sleeping in the frig an option? (Note: shut door to turn off the light).
