What is your current PSA?

Can I ask what your current PSA is? How long has it been in the state it is? In the last three months mine has gone from 0.09 to today’s reading at 2.03. I’ve been in a clinical trial for the last 20 months. I had chemo 2 and a half years ago. MO talked about going in that direction again. Scans are stable but a new nodule on my lung has grown from 6mm to 11 mm. I’ve also been battling shingles for the past 7 weeks. I don’t have to tell you but this is very disheartening to say the least . Right now I’m staying on this current clinical until I decide what to do.

How do they decide if you've failed the trial?

My Mo hasn't directly said that as yet, but because of the growing nodule and escalating PSA, she stated that the clinical has probably ended it's run and offered other options but prefered another reboot of chemo.

Both sound good - too bad you can't get all 3.

I had 6 infusions of taxotere 2 1/2 years ago and didn’t handle it well. I’m trying to avoid this type of treatment again. Will probably lean towards this other clinical trial available to me. I don’t think you can get all three anyway. And if I go for chemo first it would make me ineligible for this trial.

Hi Ralphie,

My PSA at last check was .9. I am in Round 4 with 4 cycles of Docetaxel/Carboplatin chemo combo, taking Xtandi plus chemo.

With 1 more infusion, it will make #20 since I began chemo back in 2017. Currently in hospital being treated for sepsis.

Never Give In.

Mark, sorry to here about your current set back. I'll say extra prayers for your recovery. I've been going through I guess a set back also. Trying to get through shingles, which is the most pain I ever have been through. Going on my tenth week, but slowly recovering. My last scans show stability involving my metastasis that included my liver, lymph nodes and pelvic bone area, but now I have my lungs involved with growing nodules. Been on my current trial for the last 20 months but my MO says it's probably time to move on to something else. Mentioned chemo again, but I'm leaning towards another trial that's currently available for me. Had chemo 2 and a half years ago and didn't handle it well at all. Is your sepsis caused by your chemotherapy? You have always been an inspiration for me. Well Happy Easter, and I'll definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Ralph
