Might be relocating from Tennessee to the DC region. Any thoughts on either the Kimmel or Greenbaum cancer centers? Thanks for whatever insight you can provide.

My father's experience at Kimmel in Baltimore for first treatment (IMRT/ADT) in 2012 and then now at Kimmel at Sibley for recent recurrence has been very good, have not found anything to complain about at all. Good doctors, staff have been good, positive experience all round.
Both are great. I’m in Baltimore and have used both. Currently treating with Arif Hussein at Maryland. Have Denmeade at Hopkins on speed dial. May depend on timing to get in to see your choice of provider. Both centers are very busy and may be wait for new patient.
Hopkins might be a better choice if you want to have a single shop. I use it for primary care, gastro, ophthalmology, urology clinic for indwelling foley and pretty much everything else. Just had the head of robotic surgery training repair a hernia. It is much more consistent across the board than Maryland,
Phuoc Tran, top notch RO is now at Maryland.
Insurance could also be a driver. I’m on traditional Medicare-so no problem. Advantage or HMO could be an issue with either.
If you are using facilities in Baltimore, Maryland is just off the highway from DC. You have to cross town to get to Hopkins. Good luck. You can go too wrong with either.
To Papa1,
Warning!!! Repairing is the correct word for a hernia, because unfortunately it will come back.....
Note: I wish to offer my apologies if I offended anyone regarding my so-called humor about "race" or "misogyny". To me, humor is boundless and since we entered this word crying, I thought it would be a good idea to exit laughing.
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Access to MO's at Kimmel can be difficult. They are extremely busy. Good doctors, but very busy.
I had Proton Therapy at Sibley 4 years ago—an excellent experience. I go back twice a year for monitoring and look forward to visiting with the professionals there. They remember non-medical details from my last visit, which is comforting. A prime example is nurse Jaylon Garrett!
