Mexican cancer hospitals

I have been talking to a few Mexican cancer hospitals about there offerrings of help with my prostate cancer that is advanced. They talk a good story especially there immune therapy. Is it possible since they do not have to conform to our FDA that they really can offer maybe not a cure but more time. Without harsh CHEMO, ADT Zytiga etc?

Immunotherapies have thus far disappointed for prostate cancer. They can be highly toxic.

I Have a friend that was cured of HPV cancer #4 of the throat and neck by Vargas clinic in tiajuana . Cost $20 k . He was given 3 months by the experts here to live. He’s cancer free now 3 years later . They did some crazy low dose RT and chemo that is not used here. He suffered much but pulled thru .

If they used low dose RT and chemo, then they also combined it with hyperthermia. Hyperthermia increases the benefit of low dose to equal higher doses of RT & Chemo. A Santa Monica hyperthermia company works in conjunction with UCLA offering the same low dose program.

I saw when he got back after two weeks of treatments to his throat . He was in brutal shape. I was unsure he’d survive it. But he pulled thru . Simply amazing . I’m not sure what they did but it was radical . Take care .

Ok hold on to your hat....I had HPV head and neck ....with the exception of a mis DX and the local ENT seeding my neck with tumor cells the outcome was still good....MD Anderson explained it is a relatively easy cancer to cure if it is HPV+ which is a squamous cell carcinoma ....better than a 92% cure rate so that is a completely different animal compared to what we have now.....do not confuse the cure rate between the two....

in reply to pilot52

My friend had a tumor the size of a golf ball wrapped around his jugular . Maybe a different cancer than yours. Here at the UOfA med center they told him with chemo surgery and radiation he would only live 3months. I didn’t go with him to Tiajuana but I was with him

Before and after . He has no cancer now and has lived 2yrs already .

Not uncommon for HPV to have large nodes....I guess in the long run it will be your decision....

I would guess that there are a lot of deceased patients who went to Mexico now wishing they'd gone to , say, MD Andersen

you are sooo right and it is so sad how many men and others with cancer, have gone to Mexico and other third world countries and ended up BROKE AND DEAD, or left for dead after the snake oil salesmen did their job of raping and pillaging those in need.

in reply to TEBozo

Good guess. I have no idea.

I am writing this from Mexico. I was diagnosed here, I had my biopsy here and then transferred my care to Seattle. I realize the clinics you are researching have a different focus with 'alternative' or unapproved treatments. I love Mexico but my gut response is to be very careful, which I know you are, in making a decision to invest in treatment at one of these clinics. I too, am getting to the place in my treatments of limited options but I am definitively not looking at Mexican treatments as solutions.....I'll fork over the money to go to Germany before I would go to the Mexican clinics. I think it has something to do with the nature of the treatments combined with a general issue with the level of care. No one is more caring for you when you need medical help in Mexico (amazing level of compassion and care) but it really is not the same level as US in terms of the basics.....cleanliness, washing of hands kind of things.

Been to University of Heidelberg.

in reply to lewicki

Crud, sorry to hear that Heidelberg did not work for you. I hate this whole thing of running out of viable options and not feeling 'enthused' about next treatments, whatever they may be.

Heidelberg has worked . Psa lower than when diagnosed 20 years ago.

We explored Issels Immunotherapy Center which has offices in Santa Barbara and for the non-FDA approved treatments, over the border in Mexico. We were looking at them as an adjunct therapy. The cost could be prohibitive to many: around $40K for what they suggested my husband needed given the advanced stage of his MPCa.

In spite of two extensive conversations with their medical director, we didn't get the sense that they had reviewed his medical records in a significant way, even though they claimed to have done just that. They also were unable to provide an data regarding the efficacy of their treatments again PCa. We were able to find current or former patients to speak with (on our own or provided by doctors) for every other treatment modality reviewed.

So these factors gave us pause which later turned to suspicion when they aggressively pushed us to make a decision: i.e. "time is running out" etc.

Yes very expensive and very pushy with no real proof of any kind of positive results.

I have always maintained, show us the proof, and I mean scientific tests results of any treatment, and until and unless it stands up to scrutiny, it is nothing but smoke and mirrors. They talk a good story, just like some on this site, but when it comes time to prove it, there is nothing coming forward but more bs.

Agree. No patient referral for Pca.

you are right, sadly but better to know now and not after you had given up on treatment.

Please do NOT even think about going there. I have cases of men who went there, spent every penny they had and DIED!!!

Again, if and when somebody has a medical treatment- and I care not which, that will cure or make advanced prostate cancer a chronic disease, WE WILL ALL KNOW OF THIS IN A MATTER OF DAYS.

So, stick to the scientifically approved meds-as bad as they are, for they will give you the most time. The clock is marching on all of us end stage guys, so live large pal

in reply to billyboy3

As you said . No cure for stage #4.. no cure in America no cure anywhere .

Mexican hospitals, miracle cures, and big pharma: the darlings of internet medicine. My close friend of 58 years bought in and we buried him three years ago........ he stayed with me for three weeks to see a world class oncologist researcher. Did not buy in......... so sad.

I live in Mexico half my time for the past 12 years. See a lot of the Mexican doctors and clinics offering all kinds of promises for amazing treatment protocols for many diseases including cancers. The heavily marketed ones tout amazing cures, all based on anecdotal claims. It is all about money and not supported by science. Stay away. STAY AWAY!

There are also many fine and ethical medical doctors and institutions for those who can afford to pay, and may be less than cash-pay in the USA for established treatments. Though mostly the technology is not as advanced (such as for RT). And some of your cancer medications may be considerably less expensive in Mexico. The good the bad and the ugly are all there.

Mateo and gourd: You guys are SO right and I just hope that others listen to us and reason and not jump onto some snake oil salesman's fake cures.

Good Morning,

I agree that cancers are created by viruses. Would then think treatments of Rife machines?

I have a True Rife 177 machine. Have not been using it but will resume treatments soon. The company has been around for 15 years and seem to be at the best. The machine was recommend by a Dr. Browstein MD an alternative doctor here in Michigan.

I mean only the frequency machines to kill viruses. Check out True Rife.com.

A doctor Royal Rife a German doctor in the 1930,s claimed cancers caused by

microscopic parasites . Google him.
