Can anyone tell me if Orgovyx and Xtandi are paid by Medicare Part B or the drug plan part D. If Part D, Is Wellcare a good plan to use?

Part D.

You probably won't know how much you'll need to pay until you ask Wellcare.

My crappy Cigna Medicare Part D requires a pre-authorization from the doctor before they will even tell me what will come out of my pocket.

My 2024 Wellcare Part D has a monthly co -pay of 298.00 for Orgovyx . Which is an improvement from 2023 when it wasn’t listed on formulary and had to jump through hoops to get as Tier 6 with a 33% co -pay — roughly 1000$ . But definitely check on Medicare.gov with your details as some things are different state to state , and get documentation from them ( WellCare) their customer call center is in the Philippines but if you ask for a US based CSR they will transfer you, those based in US are much more knowledgeable

Are those prices aside from your deductible? Which Wellcare plan? I'm doing the Classic in 2024, but we're going to do AA first.

Yes after the 500 annual deductible

That is so good to know about asking to be transferred to US! My husband has been so frustrated when calling WellCare, but we didn’t know there is a US option! What is CSR?

Customer service representative, I think.

I also was on Orgovyx and Xtandi in 2023. The Wellcare Part D plan was helpful but still very expensive. After I reached the "Catastrophic" phase, I believe that I paid nearly $1000 total each month for the two drugs. It does not take long to reach that Catastrophic phase.

In 2024, it looks like there are significant improvements to the costs for these 2 drugs from the revised Part D programs that should significantly help the patient.
