Would anyone know if Medicare Parts A and or B covers Zometa infusions? I don't have Medicare C or D or any supplemental Medicare plans, just parts A&B. Thanks all.
Can anyone please answer my question? I DO NOT HAVE Part D. I DO NOT HAVE A SUPPLEMENTAL PLAN, just Medicare A and b. thank you.
Should be covered like an outpatient infusion but you will have to pay the 20% medicare copay. Another alternative is XGEVA monthly but a lot more expensive I think. It is open enrollment for medicare. Can you buy a medicare supplemental plan in open enrollment, right now effective Jan 1, 2020?
I have a medicare supplemental plan with medicare and my out of pocket expense for Zometa infusions is Zero. I get the infusions every 3 months now since March 2018..
You can request a dexa scan (for bone mineral density) from your MO or PCP. If ANY site shows osteopenia, then that diagnosis will make you eligible for Medicare coverage of Prolia or Xgeva, which is probably superior to Zometa. the injections are covered under Part B.
And yes as supplemental plan (especially F or G) is very nice to have!
