I think I read about this fella before...good to know a ATM mutation was successful treated. Hoping to staying AR treatable for some years so these inhibitors are fully vetted. I wonder what other mutations were detected in addition to ATM?

It’s great that it only targets cancer cells. The drigs and treatments are getting better very quickly.

I don't have any mutations but have used olaparib with SBRT and during the initial injection of BAT. Sartor, my MO, and the head of ASTRO and a BAT/olaparib clinical trial all agreed that it would help.

Your case is even clearer. Talk to your MO.

My MO already talked about olaparib for the future in case I needed it. But there seem to be better options now as olaparib seems to work not so greatly on ATM mutations (but still better than on non mutated people). I wanted to introduce the subject of BAT giving him some references because when I hinted it he said it’s still not a well tested approach. But I would still like to talk to him about it once I am done with chemo.

It doesn't look great as monotherapy or combined with ADT.

I think the real value is with BAT and RT and some types of chemo. Even so, it is only an addition that helps the core therapies.

There are a dozen completed BAT clinical trials and another eight in progress. Given the constraints Denmeade has to work with, the trial implementations aren't optimum.

STEP-UP trial might bring BAT into more prominence. There are 20 completed or in-progress clinical trials plus many informal studies including my own study of 14 men. Even without any optimization of times, testosterone formulas, or serum T levels, the evidence speaks clearly.

A friend of mine is betting on that…

Lately I am not sleeping well because I am afraid the problem won’t be a cure itself but the length of a testing process and pipeline that was created decades ago. Knowledge is increasing so quickly nowadays and we are not keeping up on the practical development side.
