He’s on his way home…

The last few days hubby has been in the hospital for various reasons including the cancer. Dockam and I have been PMing during this time. He has been very helpful and supportive.

The hospital has been pushing so many drugs into my hubby’s body that it threw him into a tailspin chemically. Yesterday the on-call doctor came in and said that hubby had three choices 1) transfer to the CCICU 2) go to in-house hospice 3) have hospice care at home

I let hubby choose as it is HIS life and he deserves the way he wants to be treated. So he wants to be home. So he’s coming home.

And as both Dockam and the hospice nurses say it could be two days or two years before he passes away. And at least he will be comfortable. And enjoy his music blasting out.

Only God know when. Hopefully, he can be comfortable and enjoy his loved ones and like you said, blast the music.

well, home is where the heart is, where love / caring is as well. Being in your ole familiar surroundings with your loved ones , …is where I’d want to be too. I’m pretty sure he will be in caring - loving hands.

Tho I realize it’s not probably typical, I’ve told the story many times ….of my friend that was sent home by the V.A. …. and he lasted 3 more years with his morphine and fentanyl pain management drugs.

❤️❤️❤️

I'm sorry. If this is indeed his final time on earth, I hope it is pain free.

My father (dying from advanced PC on at home hospice care), passed at home surrounded by family and the sound of a glorious Te Deum. That music had helped all the family to relax and let him go join the heavenly choir.

Wonderful that your husband gets to go the comfort of his own home and loved ones. In the days before our dad passed we all gathered around his bed and just sat and talked, sang songs, and we played lots of music, especially one of his favorites, Ashoken Farewell, for him. Precious memories.
