I get a nuelasta shot 24 hours after receiving my Jevtana and Carboplatin iinfusion. I'm having major body aches for 2 to 3 days after receiving the shot to boost my white blood counts. None of my various pain medications works. Anyone have this problem or have an answer to help with the pain? Believe it or not I feel fine after receiving Jevtana and Carboplatin, its that shot of nuelasta thats killing me for 3 days.

Nuelasta shot after Jevtana and Carboplatin treatment
Claritin is what the nurses recommended for me after keeping it a secret on my first chemo infusion.
I had 6 rounds of docetaxel, a different chemo agent. However, I found that the first
3 days after infusion, I didn't have much pain. But on day 4-7, I had a lot of aches, kind
of like the flu. I did get neulasta on the 2nd infusion because the chemo wiped out
my immune system on the first round. So I think that the pain is probably coming from the chemo and not the neulasta. Good question for you oncologist or support folks at the
infusion ward.
Initially my Doc recommended Claritin and Tylenol the day before chemo and the five days after. My first treatment bone pain hit me like a brick a day or so after the Neulasta shot and lasted four days. I switched to Claritin and 800mg Ibuprofen (have on hand from my rheumatologist) and never experienced pain again.
I was advised to take Claritin for 3 days before chemo, the day of chemo, and 3 more days after chemo. Seems to work for me. Lately I have taken to take Claritin every day, figuring that if it works during chemo, why not continue using it?
