I’m stunned, but not amazed. Great docs are often arrogant docs and spouses in the workplace often spell trouble. I fear we have lost a giant in our sphere and while the great work at the lab will go on, it will not be the same.

I believe nature made it that way. If men really thought about the consequences of sleeping with most of the women they do, what do you think would happen to the birth rate?

I'm shocked to read that in some countries there are actually consequences for doctors who misbehave. No such thing here (Slovenia). In our culture doctor can do anything and you are to be grateful no matter what. And there is high hierarchy - younger doctors would never dare to say anything / oppose to more established ones (forget nurses, they have no rights).
