Absolute lymphocytes-

6 months post 33 rounds high beam radiation. Absolute lymphocytes are 398. Reading up on this this can occur after radiation and make you susceptible to infection- oddly rest of labwork is within normal range. Anything that can be done to raise this lab value?

I had that too.

Both my RO, and MO stated low Neutrophils are a worry for infections.

Lymphocytes not so much.

Mine ar almost back at 3 months.

thank you. did you change diet? How long after radiation did you get a low reading?

I get monthly labs for ADT, I first noticed it week 4 of RT. Was fine day before I started RT.

ADT contributes too. My lymphocytes went to the low side when I started.

Good question. After 6 rounds of chemo my White Cell Count, Lymphocytes, and Neutrophils were all within normal range. I was on ADT all this time.

I finished radiotherapy (after chemo) about two months ago and now they are all below normal. White cells 2.4 vs 3.5. Neutrophils 1.5 vs 2.0. Lymphocytes 0.6 vs 1.0.

After chemo I ended up in hospital for a week with a bad infection even though my numbers were normal. So I’m thinking I need to be careful not to catch anything while they are still low. Going to call the clinic to see if I should get the flu and covid booster jab.

this is absolute lymphocytes, haven’t had chemo

My lymphocytes are also lower due to radiotherapy. Not chemo. Anyway good luck with everything.
