Question for those of you who give away meds

EDIT: The Questions are still valid but I have given all Erleada away.

I have Erleada. A lot of it. Happy to ship it somewhere but questions for those who have done this for others.

What do you do about the labels? They have personal info on them.

Also, is it even legal? Am I as the sender legally responsible in any way?

Do you check to make sure the recipient isn't self medicating?

I have about a 6 moths supply. I would hate for it to go into the trash.

Where are you, swwags? I once heard on this forum that giving it away in person is ‘legally preferable’ to sending it in US Mail… (Yes, I and/or others on Erleada could benefit)

Minnesota and yes it is illegal to ship through any carrier. Federal offense 2-5 years imprisonment. Wife just found that out today.

Normally you’d have the recipient just show you a copy their script or that the drug is in their prescribed meds list. Then send it to them.

Penalties and fines are geared toward drug abuse and anti pharm profiteering. The feds “ are not “ interested in people dying from cancer getting some free treatment drugs.

People I know have ordered diet pills from Central America and it got caught in customs. Even in the case of actual amphetamines , all that happened was the feds sent out their standard warning form letter.

Giving away your unneeded or extra cancer drugs ( which are not abusable ) to someone already with a prescription is both humanitarian and about as safe as it gets.

Sending out drugs like painkillers is a definite NO, tho.

Just IMHO.

Just say’in

I wonder if there are any test cases around…..this concerns me because it IS technically illegal and the option to prosecute remains…….Even if you win you are out multiple dollars for lawyers.

Well I'm not going to be the test case. ANYONE IN MINNESOTA who needs Erleada, reach out to me.

If you are on this group , then you are croaking from cancer … myself I wouldn’t care in the slightest. No prosecutor is going to take a man dying from stage four advanced prostate cancer to court for a petty offense . Not in a million years. How would that look on his political résumé.

Plus this is too small of a case for Federal interest, they would kick it down to local jurisdictions. Again , there, if you explain it to them , it’s a non judicial case they wouldn’t pursue as well. They are overlooked going after real perps.

It’s simple I guess , …. If swaggs is afraid then don’t do it.

Myself I wouldn’t hesitate a moment to sent cancer meds out to others they are prescribed for.

Ima gonna be dead long before ( years ) any legal processes could move anyway, who cares.

Just imho… everyone- anyone should act as their conscience dictates.

I agree with everything you just said my friend. The warden, er... excuse me, my wife, does not. She is the CEO CFO, CIO and love of my life.

Yayahahahaya. When “ da boss “ speaks, we have to listen.

My conscience has nothing to do with it…..there are some pretty stupid laws out there…..as there are some pretty overzealous law enforcement folks….I agree with your opinions on the matter but worry that I would get nabbed by some newbie cop and though ultimately getting it all dismissed incurring legal fees I can’t afford in the process…… my paranoia.

FWIW, folks have reached out to me and my leftover supply is no more, or will be shortly. I think the post is still of value though.

Good for you brother … helping your croaking brothers , like that, brings you ship loads of good karma, not to mention the huge help a gift like yours brings.

You did a good thing .

Hello,

I take Erleada but I am no where near you as I am in New Mexico. Please let me know why you have so much. I assume it doesn’t work for you. If this is the case, please let me know what to expect with Erleada. Thanks

I know people say this a lot, but I felt like a different person. Like I was outside myself looking in. didn't sleep well, mood swings were worse for me than lupron, headaches.

I'm not suicidal in any way shape or form. I love life. The drug certainly didn't make me feel suicidal either. To me this just wasn't living. That should answer your question as to why I had so much. Most people I read about don't have the same issues, so just because it happened to me, doesn't mean it will happen to you. Just bad vibes for me and life is too important. Hope this helps.

Wow. That’s kind of what happened with me while briefly on Abiraterone. Thus I was taken off that and put on Apalutamide (Erleada).

Strange how each of us respond a little differently to certain meds. I hope you are doing well though.

Not quite. ERLEADA® is a prescription medicine used to treat two types of prostate cancer:

Prostate cancer that HAS SPREAD to other parts of the body and STILL responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone. This is called metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer, or mCSPC.

OR

Prostate cancer that HAS NOT SPREAD to other parts of the body and NO LONGER responds to a medical or surgical treatment that lowers testosterone.

This is called non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer, or nmCRPC.
