We all know that honey has long been used as a medicine for various diseases, wound healing, etc... I noticed that in some European forums, patients write about consuming acacia, honey. There are references to honey and prostate on the internet: "Honey as a Potential Natural Anticancer Agent". But there are still many unanswered questions; why sugar is carcinogenic, while honey which is basically sugar has anticarcinogenic properties...
What do you think about it?

Thanks for the honesty, for cutting to the chase TA. LMAO too.
I've bit my tongue or tied my fingers to prevent typing quite a bit lately.
I don’t want to be cast aside due to a view or post/reply I make by anyone here because sometimes someone who today has the most BS to present might actually have something worthy to present on another day. (good example: thought I had read up on SE’s quite well but someone mentioned in a thread low BP, dizziness from Flomax and since I was only peeing one or two times a night decided to eliminate as a test. I still only pee one or two times a night but no more dizzy almost passing out feeling when I go up the stairs and overall feel way better. Going on for over 3 weeks now).
Many/all(?) of the people who I don’t want to be cast aside by have offered up emotional support as well.
Kaliber spelled out our need for each other quite well.
I have stage 4 PC. At diagnosis 1600+ PSA, bone mets from skull to ankles, lymph mets from pelvis to clavicles/collarbones. Not trying to say I have it worse than others it's just I don’t have the luxury of being pissed off at the government, legal system, FDA, and most of all Scientific Medicine. I am very glad to have it all in my life at this time. This point in my life is a time to seek best treatment and spend time with wife and family. Not time to become an Apothecary. (doesn’t mean my wife and I don’t pay attention to healthy balanced eating though along with allowing within balance unrecommended food—ice cream on occasion etc. I am in a semi-palliative diagnosis after all. Depending on the day and who you are talking to I might be completely within palliative care). At diagnosis when I told the Urologist I had not yet picked up my T flare reducing Casodex prior to Lupron shot because it didn’t go thru insurance he sternly (and rightly so) said you need to take care of your Cancer. Ain't it the truth.
This made me hungry. I’m going to have some peanut butter honey toast now. Thanks to my wife it will be raw honey, grain bread. Fine with me. Take what I already eat and make it healthier. But not regimentally scheduled doled out as a cancer cure. Its just what I feel like eating at the moment. Healthy is good. Will help in dealing with the end battle when it comes. The extent to which we endeavor to “ health “ is of course a personal decision devoid of the government or others IMO.
Going to have to ask Erika Thompson the bee lady from Texas about that.
In Bee hive , there are many other chemical substances besides sugar in the form of fructose(fruit sugar) Note that Sugar does not cause prostate cancer growth until very late in the disease or if sugar is used in moderation in its natural form.Coming back to Bee hives...the wall of the hive is made by bees by a lot of different types of chemical substances which include pollen related carotenoids, flovonoids, polyphenolas ,anthocyanins ,acids ,allergens and wax. Its like a mine of various anti oxidant and anti infectious chemicals. The assortment is called as "bee propolis"
After reading a dozen research articles about bee propolis, I tried to experiment with " Brazilian Brown Bee Propolis" (by Natura Nectar) Within hours I felt a strange feeling more like little hyper and more awake but it was not affecting my work.
I check blood counts every2 weeks. What changed after using bee propolis was that my lymphocyte count went up from 2.1 to 2.7. Last time it happened was when I took live cholera vaccine (Vaxchora) when Lymphocyte count went up to 4.0.
This is understandable as the substances in bee propolis may stimulate immune system being foreign to body and can cause increase in lymphocytes.
There are lot of articles about Bee Propolis and its effects on cancer and other diseases.
Manuka honey is well known for its anti bacterial properties esp against MRSA (resistant bacteria. )
A note of caution: Bee propolis can cause allergic reaction in some people.. sometimes severe ones. I started with a tiny amount first day to test if I am allergic.
I am just reporting.. not prescribing...Talk to your Doctor if he/she allows it.
"Some species of acacia contain psychoactive alkaloids" [Wiki]
Perhaps that's what attracts the bees - & the honey consumers?
Based on PubMed papers, the only bee product that appeals to me is propolis that contains high levels of Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE). Most propolis contains little or none.
We can have some acacia honey and stay in La La Land for a little while. These days staying in reality is so hard....World has become a sad place in last 1 1/2 years.BTW..Patrick, can you tell what brand has high level of CAPE ?
"Professor Hiroshi Maruta has stated that NZ propolis is 5 times more powerful than propolis from other countries due to the highest levels of caffeic acid phenethyl ester or "CAPE" which has been the subject of extensive study for its anti-cancer properties."
Manuka Honey comes in different grades with the higher grades costing much more. One needs to be careful now as fake Manuka is hitting the market. I believe New Zealand is trying to find a way to combat this much the same as Champaign, Chianti wine and other fine foods related to regular jo kne of the world.
I don’t know personally, of course, but messing around with that tedious alkaloids extraction , concentration , handling the ultra sticky concentrate ... eating the burnt stuff with it .... all that . There are zillions of other things that “ pay off “ dramatically better. If you can afford it ... try buying a jar of those sliced in oil truffles and eat a large dollop of those. Not only are they delicious, surprisingly they have “ considerable “ psychoactive alkaloids in them. They give you quite a fungus buzz. That’s what I’ve heard ....
Just say’in 🦋🌻🌼🌸🍄🍄🍄😁😁
P.s. those new legal nearly everywhere delta 8 infused buds are surprisingly effective .... says the wifey and she has a hefty cannabis tolerance. Buy them right off the web, they were removed from Amazon ( tho still quite unregulated and legal ) due to controversy.
At the first blood count after starting taking Propolis (by NOW Foods 5:1 extract) I noticed a decline in Estradiol that normally stands at or above the max value as a by-product of my extremely high Testosterone. Coincidental or not, I will know in future.
Nal..I checked again. You are right. Honey has both Fructose and Glucose in it besides a lot of vitamins, minerals and other substances.First time in my life, I tried to eat a small piece of honeycomb...I could not eat it as it was "rubbery" and "chewy" stuff and I was not able to eat it again. The honey comb has most of the good stuff in it.
.
I make my own honey mustard...that's all I use honey for.
I use honey every day in my dandelion tea, don’t know if it helps but I don’t get sick, my allergies are very mild and my stage 4 was diagnosed in August of 16. Doctor says I’m stabil with a PSA of 0.05. 🙏🙏🙏
Honey is NOT sugar and is NOT comparable to sugar simply because it is sweet.
Even basic research on honey is revealing and 'some' are better than others.
I do the unheated / unpasteurized version myself. There is a long history of honey as a beneficial / natural product with interesting properties. When you 'refine it', with a lot of processing, you are basically eliminating what gives it the 'medicinal' properties.
GOOD health food stores should be able to provide it. There is NOTHING wrong or dangerous about raw / unprocessed honey - quite the opposite.
Don't consider it as a 'sugar' equivalent - totally wrong - even processed honey is better than any form of sugar if you want to sweeten something ...... but why toss the benefits out the door with the processing ?
Not sure why people are referring to honey as bee poop. It's regurgitated.Yes, I agree with you here. It is not compatible to sugar directly. It's true that there is fructose and glucose mainly in the honey, but like you have stated there's a lot more in it than that.
I would point out a couple of things to people considering trying honey as some treatment with PcA.
1. There are quite a few papers which suggest that honey does have a positive effect in treating PcA.
2. When you do a scan to determine where cancer is and they mark the glucose and trace it, prostate cancer doesn't care less about this. This suggests that sugar isn't as much of a concern w.r.t. other cancers.
3. People have different body types. What's worked for some people may not work for others. Maybe some people on this forum have tried it without success. However, I see many more papers promoting it's effects than anything negative.
Maybe the people who a 'poo pooing' it (pun intended) can give their reasons for why it's the case. Maybe they could list a few references which show a negative effect instead of just projecting their beliefs.
I personally can't see many reason not to try it. If it has a placebo effect, then a placebo is still better than nothing. You all believe in placebos, right? You know the exact method they use as the gold standard.
