I am almost 3 months into the Body by Science workouts suggested by (Paul) Mateo Beach. I find my energy level remains high and with the exception of some brain fog and minor emotional mood swings I continue to be avoiding most of the ADT side effects. The essence of the program is very slow lifts until muscle failure. I do them once a week because it takes that long for the muscle to recover and build new muscle fiber. Total workout for 10 lifts that cover all major muscle groups is less that 30 minutes about 2 minutes each on machines at my club.
Coco commented recently that my biceps seem to have more definition lately, then with out skipping a beat she challenged me to an arm wrestling contest. I just laughed but she was serious, she really thought she could win.
At a family gathering my son said that his son , now 16, had beat him at arm wrestling so I thought that would be a perfect venue to take on Coco's challenge.
Her arm is shorter so I gave her a book to put her elbow on. I thought it was the gentlemanly thing to do. We started and I was just toying with her, letting her make progress and then taking it away. I took her almost to a pin and then let her survive. I played with her back and forth for a few minutes and then let her get my arm half way down. BIG MISTAKE! Next thing I knew she was out of her seat and putting the full weight of her yoga body on top of my arm as she pressed it into the table. She claimed victory and would not consent to a rematch. I could not stop laughing. This is one competitive Woman.
I think I will keep her anyway.

Serves you right π She sure seems like a keeper. My son is almost 17 and could beat me at a arm wrestle starting last year I think. That said experience still holds value and there's some things I do better like moving heavy objects and when it comes to biking there's no comparison, he couldn't keep up with me on his best and my worst day.
Sounds great! I'm not sure though I should do any arm wrestling because I have some serious compromise of three vertebrae. And maybe some other compromise that I'm not aware of.
There is a tiny bit of research on the biomechanical impact and risk associated with bone mets. And even some comments that this is an "under researched area". The advice to me "don't twist" isn't that helpful - and may even result in me avoiding exercises that would be great!
Regardless the more exercise the better!
Question for you Scout: how did you come up with your routine? Is it listed somewhere? And specially how did you know you need so many days for your muscle fibers to recover?
The need for recovery time is a mystery to me, even though I have tried to look. There is so much out there it's hard for me to tell the difference between people who are just repeating hearsay and writers who actually know what they're talking about.
In July, after working up to it over 6 months, I found finally hit my Fitbit goal of 650 ActiveZone minutes a week, the majority of which was aerobic AKA catabolic, but I was starting to add strength / resistance/anabolic exercise as well.
But then in August even till now I kind of crashed and I'm only now starting to get back into exercise.
πππ I to have found that exercise and lifting weights has really helped with my muscle mass. Although I see very little defintion in my muscles compare to before adt and I feel stronger and I can hit the golf ball just as far as before treatment. The mental elation and clarity I get from exercise is worth every minute in the gym.. I also experience lots more energy and have a great appetite and sleep well, all pluses in my world...and keeps any negative thoughts at bay...
I'm glad Coco won, you screwed around and paid the price. 'Don't want to hijack your thread but I recently joined a great gym with a cold plunge. I get in up to my neck about six minutes, four times a week after my work out. It improves my moods significantly every time and many of the other members say the same thing. I realize that cold plunges are kinda the latest and greatest thing but I and several of my close friends are big believers.
I always pay the price. I joked with her the other day that I picked her up on the cheap when others were distracted by Covid. Her immediate reply with a sweet smile was" You are not done paying"
Jimmy Charles sang it live at the Bakersfield 5k a few years ago with all the PCa survivors on stage behind him. Not a dry eye there. I also saw him when I went to NYC with BiL (prostate out 11 yrs ago) to do 5k with Daughter and her BF
I'm signed up to do it again this 11/04 and so far have the largest Team (Kam Ohana) and leading in $ raisingπ
Several OCs are warming up to mono therapy with a receptor blocker like Nubeqa or Xtandi. Good friend with very advanced PC has cycled it and lowered his PSA. We are doing a follow up round of dendritic cell therapy presently as our PSAs are ticking up from our treatment in July 2022.
PC cells are immortal so we are treating ours in a different manner knowing that ADT will eventually fail to keep the critters from morphing.
The joy you two bring to my heart is so wonderful. I will follow your lead and get back to the gym. My limbs are fastly becoming spaghetti. Thanks for all the helpful information you put out and the wonderful life sharing moments. Sheβs a winner and so are you.
A guy your age and you haven't learned about women yet? They have memories like elephants and are as strong as them...........(try carrying a baby for 9 months and then delivering it)....... I rest my case............
P.S. Caution!! I think you should tighten Coco's zip ties cause I think she's got her eye on the photographer..... Please don't shoot the messenger..........
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Any man who brags about having a Mexican crack whore beat him in arm wrestling must wear his ex-wives panties. Thanks for the updated photos you big eared asshole. Nal says hello.
