So, 8.4-28.8 nmol/l is NOT your testosterone level, it is the normal reference range for comparison purposes. YOUR testosterone level is <0.4 nmol/l (undetectable), which is what it should be while taking Firmagon.

range is 8.4 to 28.8 nmol/L -- or 242.2728ng/dL to 830.6496ng/dL

unitslab.com/node/136

T <0.4 nmol/L = 11.5368ng/dL

* ... the American Urological Association lists 50 ng/dL as the threshold for chemical castration [19], and the European Association of Urology PCa guidelines also establish the threshold of chemical castration at 50 ng/dL, .... *

For a surgical castration reference, my Orchiectomy was in 2015 with my latest *T* < 2.5ng/dL as of blood test 2 weeks ago

Anything under 50ng/dl is considered castrate and evident that the drugs are working. Sub 20ng/dl has shown favorable efficacy in regard to recurrence and progression.

Testosterone is good to monitor along with PSA as it can show indication that the drugs are failing, or your PCa is becoming resistant and it's time to change the drug regimen, move on. That timeline is different for everyone!

As noted, you need to 'read' the results correctly. Be aware that most Testosterone test results take a day or two. You'll see that the test was performed but the actual results not appear until they have it.

Good Luck & Best Regards

In 2017, I had 37 radiation sessions, 10 pelvic followup RT and radioactive seeds etc. PSA is still undetectable, but T has declined to around 3 on that scale. Team supports my reluctance to have T replacement therapy, due to possible reactivation of pc. I've learned to live with chronic fatigue and lack of libido. I've gladly settled for still being here with an acceptable QOL.
