I was just scheduled for a PI PET. Can I get a bit more insight about what this is all about?

Never heard of it. What is a PI-PET? Do you mean a PSMA PET?

A "PI" modifier is for coding for insurance purposes. PI means Payor Initiated Reductions. Ask the doctor which type of PET scan is being done.

Thanks much!

PI is the "initial" indicator for a PET scan, as in the first.

PS would indicate the "subsequent" PET scans.

This would be for CMS reporting
