I found a lump on edge my right breast over toward sternum. As a man, I have always had a tiny bit of breast. Just how I was born.
Initially it felt like a half pea about 1/8" under the skin. Didnt hurt or anything.
Went to City of Hope, Phoenix (formerly Cancer Treatment Centers America).
They did a mammogram and ultrasound. Both techs and two docs said it was a type of cyst. The assigned surgeon set me up for an in-office procedure where they would just numb it and start cutting which I liked (no rigamarole).
Then, in the mean time... it went nuts.
Think it was all the smashing everyone was doing to it. It got reddish around the lump. The lump/hard part got bigger.. about the size of a quarter and not well defined. Hurts like hell if I bump into it. This is all within a couple weeks.
The doc asked for pics and they said looks like it got infected and is common for these cysts. So they prescribed me antibiotic. Antibiotics seem to be doing nothing (day 5/7).
The nurse that phoned me back said they can behave like a giant zit. Granted, the pic does resemble a giant zit (red outside, with white center), but in person, it does not seem to me to be acting like the white part is attempting to break the skin. Nor does the white part seem puss like. Its the hard part of the lump pressing against the skin making it look white.
Any advice?
