I have received my medication, and it is Xtandi, not Erleada which I thought it would be from the brochure I received from the physician.....Anyone using this stuff.....and if you will.....what's the "scoop" on this stuff..........thanks......I will start this in early May
Xtandi.....(enzalutamide tablets) - Advanced Prostate...
Xtandi.....(enzalutamide tablets)
I started xtandi last June, after 2 months I had to stop because headaches and my blood pressure went up. Stayed off for 1 week when headaches stopped. Started with 2 pills for 1 week, then back on 4 pills. When I started xtandi last June my PSA was 1.09, now it’s 0.08. I take 2 pill in the morning between 10 am and 11am, then 2 pills between 10 and 11pm. I have no problems with the pills. Good luck
Xtandi and Erleada are very similar in effectiveness, although they have never been directly compared in a randomized clinical trial. Erleada can cause a rash, but Xtandi usually doesn't.
Hi. I've been on Enzalutamide for over 2 and a half years. So far, so good. Along with the ADT injection I have had a big drop in PSA and no obvious progression on scans. Main downside is struggling to get going in the morning and loss of muscle. Good luck my friend.
I'm in England. When I was diagnosed it was when Covid was such a big concern. The NHS basically said Xtandi, not chemotherapy, as they were worried about people doing chemotherapy. I had no choice. If I had been in Scotland, you were given Zytiga, not Xtandi. If I had a choice today, I would ask for Darolutamide and chemotherapy, triplet treatment.
Been on Xtandi for a year- same date I started LUPRON shots. Prior to that I was on Firmagon shots only. I had changed docs at that time and this ts the protocol he recommended. Two of my mets are no longer detectable and the other is reduced in size so something is working. The main side affect is fatigue and malaise- I feel better in the mornings but on most days I’m done by noon. Can’t say for sure if it’s the L or X but I’m ready for a vacation. Hot flashes of course about 12 to 16 times a day. My regular MD told me Xtandi was akin to taking poison- and my research pretty much confirms that - that’s why it works on the bastard PC. Good luck and keep us informed.
Xtandi has been talked about frequently and in depth here on the group. Xtandi took me from the jaws of entering hospice and given me 54 months of life , so far, that a table full of doctors thought I didn’t have in me. In my case , Xtandi is a near miraculous…. life extending drug ( Lupron Xtandi). Xtandi can produce differing levels of SEs in different people tho. Most experience, mild SEs.
