Abiraterone shortage

My pharmacy just informed me that they cannot fulfill my abiraterone prescription because it is currently unavailable in the US. I was wondering if anyone has abiraterone leftovers. Thanks in advance.

I filled mine last week and Walgreens told me their preferred manufacturer didn't have drug available but there are other manufacturers they can go to. They needed my permission to go to the other source. My insurance covered it, but it could be an issue with different insurance carriers.

Go to another pharmacy or touch base with the pharmacy on the bottle. I get mine through my medical office pharmacy, and they know nothing about a shortage.

Thank you for the offer, but another member of this forum is in the process of sending me abiraterone leftover. Maybe it can be used by someone else.

My husband is having issues right now. He has been without it for a week already. CVS specialty - they said the first manufacturer was out of stock, so they went to another and now want the bump the copay from $5 to $320.

It has taken them a week to tell us this information and back and forth with the doctor’s office.

So, we are trying to get that settled now so he can get back on it.

Thanks for this information. When I saw your initial post I went Kaiser pharmacy's online ordering to place an order for a refill. Initially the order was accepted, but this morning I received a notification saying they were unable to fill the order.
