Covid-Induced Holiday

A week before Christmas, both my wife and I tested positive for Covid and it was the first time for both of us. My Primary Care wanted to put my on Paxlovid for 5 days but was concerned about interactions with my Orgovyx and Lipitor. Both should be stopped during the 5 days on Paxlovid and then for 7 days following the Paxlovid dosage. I checked with my oncologist and he was fine with me taking a brief holiday since my PSA has been undetectable and Testosterone <20. He did tell me that, when I resumed the Orgovyx 7 days after stopping the Paxlovid I would need to take 3 tablets the first day as I did when I started originally.

Does anyone have similar experiences with a holiday for Covid treatment? What was the resumption of the ADT with Orgovyx like? I have forgotten what the start up was like when I initially started Orgovyx.

Please share your experiences.

Thanks,

John

I can’t answer your question about Orgovyx but was curious how was it getting Covid? From your post seems like you did ok. Any SE’s from Paxlovid?

My wife and I both contracted Covid at the same time. We both thought it was a bad cold and it probably was this mild because we had 3 doses of the vaccines (Pfizer for both of us) before catching Covid.

By day 3 of taking Paxlovid, we were feeling close to 100%. The only side-effect from the Paxlovid was the very bad taste in our mouths. Not from the pills themselves but the taste they caused.
