I just started Zytiga. If I recall if you experience shortness of breath and/or chest pain - call your doctor.

Yes, my doctor said the loss of testosterone affects the body's ability to efficiently exchange oxygen. 2 months of cardio and portable oxygen didn't seem to help

Not for me. I hope you have told your Dr.

I've had it, but then I have a significant blockage in my heart. I ended up in the ER before I knew it. Please have it checked out.

Yes; that was a hallmark of Lupron for me. Adding zytiga did not make it worse though. It was the loss of all Testosterone that radically inhibited physical conditioning and endurance - loss of muscle mass and shortness of breath over time. We changed to Androgen Receptor Inhibitor instead (Duralutamide only) and I have none of these side affects anymore. Testosterone remains at high levels with PSA undetectable.

Thx to all for your comments. Prostatectomy Jan2020. Started in Aug 2020 Zytiga 500mg (1000mg raised ALT & AST so Doc cut to 500). Prednisone 5mg, daily plus 40mg Lupron 6 months. My Testosterone is at 29. PSA undetectable. Had an echo and heart catheterization on Monday to check SOB as I had before which needed stents (both before Zytiga). Results showed no issues. Had major bleeding when IV needle removed. Dr recommended an Hematologist Oncologist to get at blood oxygen/bleeding issues (I was on Plavix for 2 yrs but stopped in August 22). Appointment next Monday. Plus Pulmonologist, appointment early Jan. I asked about increased aerobic activity (currently walk 1 mile every day) and he suggested Cardiac Rehab which he prescribed. Also have next Prostate Oncologist meeting Jan 4th to discuss with him. PS Montly bloodwork does not show an issue??

I started ADT with Lupron and Zytiga, and remember the first time I swam laps, I was out of breath before one lap. Soon to find out RBC and platelets had dropped to 20% below normal, which affected oxygen-carrying ability. It became a new normal for my 18 months on ADT.

yup - same story here - but i was climbing our local mountain (actually hill) that i have been doing for the last 30 years (a great hour workout) - immediately after my first Lupron shot, i almost collapsed. But the good news is that with work, it gets better....not good, but better.

I have much less endurance and would qualify that as shortness of breath but I don’t know if that’s from the Zytiga, Lupron or just getting older and being much less active, (as I had a knee replacement 6 years ago with mediocre results).

In addition, as soon as I began treatment 10 years ago I added 15 pounds to my lean frame in 6 weeks and 20 pounds overall.

Whatever- I do still play tennis from April thru September, but the cold months in NY are tough for me to find exercise I enjoy doing.

I'm on Orgovyx with a dramatic decline in cardio. But resting rate is 52 with 100/80 blood pressure.

You need to consult with internal medicine, you may have increased blood pressure, heart arrhythmia, or a pulmonary or a heart problem or a lung problem.

I had unexplained shortness of breath for the period my testosterone was below 100. 18 months of adt and 2 more years under 100. Actually went away at 200 where it is now. Also found I had a 10.5 a1c which was part of it I’m guessing. Maybe all of it. A1c 6.5 now. All good. Both very important things to watch.
