My husband has been fighting adv prostrate cancer for 4 years now. I have never heard of this red meat as part of treatment. As we get older we are advised to avoid too much red meat in our diets at least thats what I have always been led to believe. We are in the UK. His treatment was 6 courses of Chemo followed by 10 steroid tablets to prevent flare up and then onto 3 monthly injections of Prostrap. His PSA was in the 80s but now at 0.1 and managed. Of course there are side effects from Prostrap, sweats and constantly wanting to pass water, and slight nausea but it has so far kept his PSA in check.

There's all kinds of batshit crazy stuff on the internet. Just eat everything in moderation.
balderdash....... PCa in 2003; metastatic in 2004. I am very close to 76, and enjoy my red meat at every supper meal, red meat at every lunch, and two eggs at every breakfast........ however, I’ll not criticize anyone’s thoughts on a proper treatment plan..,,., i guess internet doctors have to sell their books.......
to be fair, one man's anecdotal experience should not be the basis for a conclusion applied to a large population!!
I also try to cut down on the red meat, but living in a country where meat production is the major income for Namibia - food wise, it is difficult. I want to agree with Tall Allen: eat everything in moderation.
There is one 'internet book' that does not need 'selling' , and that is the 2012 Havard University report on the intake of too much choline. I enjoy eggs, but I take out the yolk.

My comment on trying to satisfy my grandmother's need for iron to make red blood cells failed to note that it occurred at a time when treatment options were very limited - 66 years ago. The thought was rare beef delivered the iron in the form needed, short of blood transfusion. The nurses turned a blind eye as they knew that it would make no difference in the outcome but made us feel that we were helping her.
sounds good to me but not likely true.
Hi, can I ask what steriods, what the steriod treatment is for?
”I have never heard of this red meat as part of treatment. ”
What red meat as part of treatment are you talking about? What is your source for this?
I have never heard of this red meat as part of treatment.
It does seem that hearing about red meat treatment is rare.
I'd love to eat red meat but I can't afford it anymore. I couldn't tell you the last time I sat down to I nice juicy T-bone. 😋✌
