I do not presently have any pain, just my bladder not behaving itself. I suppose some 'specialist' will prescribe me some gormless medication "There, there, you are nice and dry again, silly boy will not wet himself again!" "YISS THANKYU NURSE!"
Yes I have Prostate Cancer, I want to... - Advanced Prostate...
Yes I have Prostate Cancer, I want to know is there some sort of 'nappies' that could hide my present embarrassment?
That’s a hec of a helmet and shield . Dear Sir! You need a medical oncologist to treat you ASAP and push the pc away . Don’t wait . I did . My bladder. and urethra were shut off by pc tumors . I went in k failure resulting in tubes into kidneys and a foley for over a yr . You don’t want to go there . Believe me! You must fight this . End stage is a brutal nightmare that no man wants .Get on a health kick and save your own ass. I did , I was #4 t-4 and given little chance to survive it . I’ve been clear over seven years now … although I’m greatly diminished ,It is all gravy baby ! APC is a killer if it is let to go wild in us . No cure for #4 ,means it will always come back in time . Some have lived for decades beyond some terrible cancers . Stay positive !
Thanks Lulu700 I have just been given an appointment for surgery in a local cancer centre for 23rd November, in a rather heavy envelope, my bowels and bladder seems to have come out in sympathy🥴 I won't say anymore on this subject!
MomaMia! A month away? Waiting sucks . But please Be careful in the meantime .. ? 😳✌️
I have a medical oncologist, nurse etc, two separate specialists for other major conditions, BUT this old cadaver has fought too many challenges, too many internal scars, my incentive to live is too small, I have too many restrictions my "one off" body has had it! Move on!
Well Sir! I respect you.. I can say that I understand that . I was also at that point at just 53.. no man can tell another man how to live . Any prolonged contact with our medical groups does make one want to stay away from the mod medicines. I dropped my adt drug six months back . For the first time in 7 yrs I’m on nothing and doing no test beyond a simple psa.. when or if this wraps back around for me again ,I might just pass on any med or treatments again myself? My body is shot also . Good luck Aldon57!🍀
Thanks Lulu got to the stage, is it worth taking any medication, I am getting so many side effects, I want some sort of sanity, try taking just the bare minimum, my epilepsy meds. I have been diagnosed terminal epilepsy, the PC medicine such infuriating mind bending side effects, similar to some of the epilepsy medication, I want my reasoning power, I want to read, deduct, my intelligence, not the angry old man I have recently become! Lulu 👍
Imho It’s the lack of testosterone that is to blame for much. It’s just unnatural . I chopped the boys 2017 and dropped the lupron shots . Some guys say that they ‘re not affected much ? I was wiped out. But in my case , so was the pc wiped out . A trade off of sorts , I’m depleted , but no pc .. for now . “ angry old man” I was that at 53 ,I aged 30 yrs in two .. Ive had to deal with trying to drop the rage . I still flair up on occasion . I smoke weed and take high dose Thc oil to help take the edge off . Many a fine fellow here are on mood meds pain meds and or sleeping aids .. I do take 20 mg melatonin and 4.5 naltrexone at night .. per my Nat dr . I’m thinking that many men are just are stoic and don’t cop to the devastation of it all upon us . I’m sorry about the epilepsy ..that’s a scarey thing . Take care Aldon57 ! 💪
you da’ best, Scott. 👍💕🙏
Viva Baja Sur Amigo! 🤙🏽🏄🏻♂️✌️
In the UK its basically a diaper. But I like your reference to how most here take naps. I know I do lol.
incontinence, babies have nappies, men's sanitary towels, caused by Prostate Cancer, probably happening whilst I am writing this!
I was wearing depends and self cathing until that failed . No bueno ,once our urology gets twisted ,there is hell to pay . 😳.
I was left 100% urinary incontinent following an RP. For years, before repatriating to the UK, I wore a clamp manufactured in Canada called Dribblestop. It gave me lots of confidence, which I enjoyed, but eventually also began to make me very sore. My GP, once I was here, referred me to a urological nurse who prescribed enormous pads and nylon underwear to hold them in place.
My wife and I refer to the pads as 'Tingies', but when out i travel with spares (never less than four) in a knapsack that we refer to as my 'nappy sack'. On longer journeys I also carry spare trousers and underpants.
The pads and underpants being prescribed, they are delivered to our house monthly. That is a huge help.
Maybe discuss having such a referral with your GP?
I'm such a medical mess at present, my health centre practice passes me onto different GP every time I get an appointment, it's dribbling at present, but I know will flow more🙄I live on my own but can be prepared 'at any time', used to medical emergencies😣 have referred onto PC nurse, whom always seems to be "out of office" these days, [7th Nov is her comeback date at present]🙄
Will have to 'ask' around locally[quietly] for appropriate items, the less noticeable the better!
Here in Northern Ireland NHS not too brilliant at present!🙄😏
That was mucho suffering BrentW . 😳
there are plenty of incontinence pads made specifucally for men. Amazon makes a couple, Depends, MDP drip pads, Lena, etc.
There are heavy duty full pads - like underwear only padded for both urine and you know what. There are heavy duty urine only pads that you put inside your undies, sometimes called "maxis" and there are lighter duty ones sometimes called "minis". You can easily carry extras with you and change as necessary. One of the questions my MO always had was how many did you have to change each day.
I got to where I only used one a day and changed that whether I had an accident or not. Now I don't wear any but I still have a rare minor accident. It is essential for me to go when I first get the feeling I might need to.
I always sit on the toilet instead of using a urinal since my flow is weak. When wearing a pad it is hard to use a urinal anyway and easy to dribble on the pants. I cruised on a sailboat for years and you always sat on the toilet so it was not something I had to get used to. It seems some men think urinating sitting down is unmanly. It is not. And it keeps the floor much cleaner, especially with older gents around.
After my RP I had to have a Transoburator Sling fitted as the operation made me incontinent. I was using massive pads prior to that. I have since had an artificial urinary sphincter fitted which works even better. It has changed my life. I wear 0 (Zero) level Tena pad now to catch the occasional drip or doing something strenuous. I hope this helps you. Good luck
This is the price we pay for becoming civilized. We used to be able to pee anywhere, anytime. Now we need indoor toilets and incontinence pads. Ah, progress! 😀
Adlon57, I leak about 10-25 gr a day mostly while walking...I found reusable, washable underpants with a 'pad' in the front...they were rated to be able to take 100 gr/ ml of urine and not pass thru; I think they are right. On a really bad day I will lose 45-50 gr/ ml and no odor or wetness is noted on the outside...they are not cheap at $25 per unit but when I looked the disposable pads range from $0.80 to $1.00 each so every 25-30 days (month) you are 'buying' one of these re washable undergarments in disposable diapers. At the end of the week I wash and dry them and reuse them one each day. Plus they make you feel better; you dont have a darn 'napie' in your crotch...I dont want to give my brand as there are many on line but I would recommend them over disposable pads. As long as you dont lose more than 100 gr/ ml per day they work well for me; consider them...TNX
I definitely look that up in UK pounds or Irish, strongly thinking of moving 'down south' to Ireland, from Northern Ireland, if it still exists by new year? I live by myself, so no embarrassment for extra laundry, now to get rid of the 'useless' gormless side effects of Decapeptyl🙄thanks RMontana 👍
I'm only a blow in as far as PC had it for four months, last two weeks have been "wet" but I dare say that could be diet, I have diabetes 2, or could be just new stress, and the colder, wetter season setting in, I'm a new OAP, as well a lot of changes in the new routine around my residence🙄😆 got to stay cool😎 [it doesn't help all the PC staff taking a holiday break🙄🙃] but my new incontinence pads etc could be settling in🤞
