I used Viagara "as needed". Not much response without it! I can't imagine using it daily. It makes me feel a little "funny in the head".

I take 40mg of Sildenafil (generic Viagra) daily and then up the dosage when “needed”. It works for me. While not as good as before ADT it does give a serviceable erection. I don’t experience any side effects

if erectile function mattered to me when I was on ADT I would have taken as much as I could tolerate and/or afford. No amount I took made any difference. Before Pca even 5mg worked very well.

On ADT, for me it not only didn’t work, my libido was too dead to care.

By contrast, if you are invested in function (whether you maintain your libido or not), your odds of success are excellent-even on ADT-and you should have no problem determining an effective dose. Great luck to you!

The first dose V 50 mg, no response. How many more times might it take ? Change to Cialis ?

Imposible for me to know. As I said, on ADT I had zero desire so I quit trying. The thinning and shortening of the penis (due to my RP) was no help psychologically either.

Viagra Cialis etc don’t affect libido. If you have libido I would just keep taking a small daily dose and work on it. The drug increases blood flow but no so much that it does the job for you. I’m sure you know this!

I was in a study at U of MN which focused on strategies to keep "parts" in working order during treatment (in my case, radiation and ADT). The study provided a penis pump and ED meds. The recommended dosage was three 20mg a day/3 times a week and as needed. Post treatment, I continue to take smaller dose of Sildenafil (20mg) 3-4 times a wk and as needed. Thus far, good results - can get and maintain an erection (although certainly not as hard as pre-treatment).
