what side effects can I expect taking Zytiga?

I am about to begin treatment with Lupron and Zytiga. I pretty much understand the Lupron side effects but the doc wants me on Zytiga also because of bone involvement.

Does anyone have any experience with this med? Thanks

I started on lupron and added Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) later. I felt zero additional SEs from the Zytiga. There are others here with the same experience.

Thanks! This is all new and I don’t know what to expect. It helps to hear from guys that have been there.

Same here. When I started Zytiga I couldn't really say I had additional side effects.

I was still my same old worn out some good days some bad days guy.

I am now though at a year into it and 3 years into Lupron/Eligard feeling more worn out but I think just accumulative of everything.

Maybe made some of the existing side effects worse, nausea, fatigue, swollen feet, hot flashes, loss of muscle mass.I had a short bout of elevated liver enzymes,AST,ALT,but resolved with a temporary dose reduction. Monitor your potassium levels.

No side effects here. 4+ years on it.

Eight years on Zytiga. Fatique, fatique and fatigue, low red blood count, slightly anemic. maybe some muscle loss, but I really need more exercise. Maybe some brian fog...maybe some brain fog...see! I now cry at Hallmark movies, but that may be due to 5 years on Lupron. Otherwise glad to be undetectable 8 years now.

I am on both. I am lifting weights and exercising a lot. The only side effects are sexual. Just not very interested.

Lupron and Zytiga for 2 years accept a short stint w/o Zytiga (about 2 months) in the beginning. No change is side effects for me with or w/o Zytiga.

18 months on Eligard and Zytiga/p. Nothing to report that’s horrible considering it’s keeping my PC from flourishing. Hard to get a good nights sleep and energy wise have to push myself. Just swallow those 4 big pills and be happy to have another day to enjoy. Good luck.

On Zytega for about 10 months. Started to fail. Only side effect was slowly rising BP. Went down after I was put on Xtandi. I think it depends on other ailments. Good luck.

Serious committed Exercise program will counter most of the side effects. I am 1 year into Lupron and Zytiga . see my profile for my complete history of Side effects.
