For my 1st chemo, they weren't able to get the insurance worked out for a Neulasta injection to help my WBC come back quicker. At day 12 my Neutrophils are at 0.1 (same as day 7), though the total WBC has doubled (1.6 vs 0.8). Going for bloodwork tomorrow, which will be 15 days.
Anyway, the insurance company approved Ziextenzo, which is supposed to be a biosimilar to Neulasta, for me to self inject the day after future chemos. Perform Specialty Pharmacy is supposed to ship it to me via UPS a few days prior.
It's made by Sandoz, which is a major company. I assume it's less expensive than Neulasta.
Anyone familiar with this drug?
