ADT and blood clots
Cancer does. It's hard to say if Lupron can cause it, because all men taking Lupron have cancer.
Taking meds to break down the clothes and prevent further clots probably for life, trade one thing for another, also on blood pressure meds which works good. Trying to eat thd right foods, he told me to cut back on salt and processed foods, there is salt in everything like frozen vegetables and even ice cream. He also thought that a branch doing yard work might have caused it also, gave me steroids for the swollen ankle, in the middle of that, had to take time off from work to get off my feet send elevate the leg.
I believe that they do! Or I’m not sure if just not having t driving this also . I’ve been taking Nattokinase & Serrapetase for 4 months per Nalakrats in hope of controlling this?.. Good luck ! 💪
All cancers increase the risk of serious blood clots. So every man with PCa is at risk.
Can ADT increase that risk. The history of DES (diethylstilbestrol) for ADT makes it clear that oral estrogens increase the basic risk considerably.
Does having castrate testosterone itself further increase risk? I haven't seen any suggestion that it does.
Everyone with PCa should periodically check D-dimer. If it is close to zero, there is no clot being broken down. If it is elevated, there may be another reason, but abnormal coagulation should be suspected. Nattokinase will reduce D-dimer if there is a clot, although, by speeding up clot breakdown, it will cause a temporary spike in D-dimer. Depending on the severity of the clotting, a high number of caps might be required. When I had a double DVT, I needed 6 x 2,000 FU twice daily. Many men take a single 2,000 FU cap as a maintenance dose, but I suspect that is too low for anyone with cancer.

Thank yo, I am going to tell my doctor about that test and have it done twice a year with the blood work, the drug he gave me is eliquis 5 MG and it seems to be working, staying less on my feet standing. Probably will be on it for 3 months ornpermantely at a lower dose. Cutting back on shifts at work, 2 to 3 shifts will help and reconsidering retirement plans to work till 72, yhe more you earn the less help you get for meds. Hopefully the economy will get better by fall or spring that will help ,my 401K grow more in peace of working. Being off the past week has been nice.
