Hello All , On this memorial Day , we honor the fallen Warriors . As a Marine Grunt in Viet-Nam I witnessed the pain of a fallen Marine in Combat . And that pain continues today with Agent Orange . There are now 17 presumptive Cancers and Diseases, that affected us in 1 way or another . I have Stage 4 , Oligo . My MO at VA is very good and we will see how this all plays out . So I just want to wish my Nam Vets Peace and Love .

From a Vietnam era trooper......... I hold those real vets in high regard and don't understand why there are private charities for those guys (and females) instead of the government footing all the bills for all Vets especially the wounded.... God Bless them all...

The military directly supports active duty soldiers …. With excellent medical care and powerful rehab. Then The V.A. Takes over and Does support and supply vets that have been wounded, disabled or are just plain sick. I’m my 10 year era with the Army hospital system ( Vietnam era ) and the Decades with the V.A. Medical Centers …. Vets are supplied with everything.. even houses / housing … with pools ( if physical therapy is involved ), all their custom prosthetics, glasses , hearing aids, dental fixtures and tooth work … beds / trapezes , everything medical ….and “ hefty “ monthly checks to pay for quality subsistence if needed. Those advertisements on TV that say the vets aren’t supported are outright wrong and directly self serving monetarily. They may help some but they have big salaries and massive advertising expenses to cover and well.

Our country loves our vets and in my experience…takes pretty good care of those that have sacrificed. Not saying there isn’t more that could be done, there always is, but the military medical system coupled with the V.A. Does especially good work.

My friend Bussman ( mark ) ….Urang on this group …. Lasted over 22 years on Army and V.A. Care …. He received all the SOC drugs , even the untested ones …when nothing else was left. His monthly income from the V.A. Was substantial … he lived (/and dies ) with his wife Peggy …in the woods in Missouri , very comfortably and well provided for. The government took very good care of him.

Well I was rejected by the VA because I was considered "wealthy" and did not qualify...We called that "grab ass"......

Here are a few funds that should be (should have) Funded 100% by the government.

1. Wounded Warrior Project.

2. The Fisher House Foundation.

3. World War II Memorial Fund.

and etc.

That is what I'm talking about....... Give them what they deserve 100%..... (pretty good doesn't cut the mustard).....

Three males in my family, all of us served in the military. None of us have ever received a nickel from Uncle Sam and none of us wanted anything. The only reason I went to the VA is because my Doctor left "private practice" to teach in the VA and he was the one that I trusted with my many many urinary stents. Well I couldn't see him unless I was in the VA system. Uncle Sam Wants You......

Well for sure the V.A. seems to be struggling more nowadays than in my era .. plus when we aren’t at war someplace, people kinda forget about it ….. seems like. The V.A. has a big job and rarely seems to receive the financial resources it needs. Its rough for them sometimes.

When you drive up to the pharmacy parking lot in your Mercedes…. To pick up your meds …. It raises eyebrows buddy yayahahahaya yayahahahaya.

When I enlisted in 1970, the Army promised me lifetime care for me and my family. That promise didn’t last long.

Brings up a true story.... Waiting on line in a supermarket in East Hampton....The well dressed woman in her expensive beach outfit ahead of me payed for her groceries with USDA food stamps..... When she walked out with her groceries I asked my son to see what car in the parking lot was hers. Sure enough it was a late model black Mercedes...

Must have been the one we robbed to get my meds at the Rx......

Its worth a shot . The V.A. has many support groups but i dont think just for PCa here at Hines in Illinois but i could be wrong . Thanks Allen for all you do .

Thanks, I'll ask some oncologists I know who work there. I don't pretend to understand all the psychological issues that can arise in the brave men who have seen action. But the least I can do is create a safe space for them to get together and help one another out. It seems that helping one another is essential in combat as it is everywhere in life.

I hold a special place for Viet Nam vets. I didn't go overseas but saw many of my friends go off to a war of choice. I think that most were drafted. In my opinion, we can't spend too much to care for those vets who fought in that horroble war.

20 years service, Vietnam Era through Dessert Storm with 11 years Fleet Marine Force; yet passed over for promotions so let go. I am fortunate to have supplemental insurance and no need to require overtaxed VA services. Still I advocate with and for our veterans.

Glad we made it home . I was with Bravo 1/5 , Charlie 1/1 With 4 service connected ratings the V.A. takes care of me real good , no complaints . Here in Illinois if you are rated at 70% or more , we do not pay property taxes . SemperFi.

Same in Florida. Rated 100%, I paid no property taxes. Our goal is to live as long as we can!

Thank you for your service to our Country. Proudly flew our Flags over the weekend🇺🇸. Born in 1954, drew a high number at age 18 in draft of ‘72, then a lower number in ‘73 with Cambodia flaring, then quieting and the Draft lottery soon ended. Felt for you guys. Had nightmares at just the thought of going. Nightly News from ‘68 to ‘72, my High School years was difficult to watch with so many casualties. Thank you🇺🇸
