ADT Vacation - Update 3

Well, I finally had my PSMA scan this week and met with my MO. The scan showed a small met on my pelvic bone very near to the met or a part of the met that was previously radiated but possibly outside the radiation field. Besides that I’m clear.

Pending a consultation with my RO we are thinking/hoping that it can be treated with some targeted RT. For now, pending the verdict from the RO, the vacation continues. My next PSA test is in about 3 weeks.

Be careful about treating PSA while thinking you are treating cancer. If you have a new met while on vacation, consider ending your vacation.

Oh I understand that PSA is not cancer and I believe my doctors do as well. I’m still considering restarting ADT. As much as I detest it I don’t want to be foolish. I’m aware there are mixed feelings about the concept of ADT vacations and some think I’ve already been foolish to go on vacation at all.

My feeling is - if you need a vacation - take it. But there is no point if testosterone doesn't recover.
