Newly diagnosed advance prostate cancer

Can anyone help me with a outlook for my prostate cancer. Had RP 2/18/2022. Pathology report 2 0f 7 Lymph nodes positive. GL9. Does this mean the PC have moved to my bones? I had a bone scans prior to RP that showed no bone Mets. Also prior to RP my psa was 7.1. What do I do now and how long do I have? I have started to feel something going on in my back area.

There are two ways to find out out if you have bone mets...one..by monitoring Alkaline Phosphatase blood level and two, by scans (Ct, MRI,PSMA) If your ALP is in normal range and is NOT rising, then, most likely you do not have Bone Mets.

No body can predict how long you have...But the range is from 2 years to 30+ years depending on aggressivity of your cancer and its response to treatments.

No, it means it's moved to your pelvic lymph nodes, not your bones. You can check to make sure it hasn't moved to your bones with a NaF(18) PET/CT. Assuming it hasn't, you can still be cured with salvage radiation. You should discuss with a radiation oncologist.

If your bone scan shows nothing, you have no tumors in your bones. How about CT scans, do they show anything?

How long do you have? Who knows and why worry about it? Worry about today; today's tests, today's scans. How do you feel?

If you feel OK, your scans are OK and you just have a high Gleason score, be cautious and conservative but also thankful because you're very fortunate so far.

I had RP surgery 2/19 with a PSA of 14. Gleason 9 and 2 out of 10 lymph nodes. PSA 6 weeks after surgery was .9. 😩 Started Lupron and Zytiga and then waited about 8 months for my incontinence to get better before I had salvage radiation. Stayed on the ADT drugs for a total of 24 months. Now, 3 years after surgery I am undetectable and have been this way since I started ADT. I don't know if I am cured, but I feel great and keeping my fingers crossed. It is normal to think any pain or discomfort you feel is cancer, but probably not.Do what you need to do and you will be fine for a long time!

You've got the Hebie Jevies. We all have gone through what you're going through. Scared and confused. Just take it easy Pca is a slow one so you have time to plan ahead. Get a good Medical Oncologist in a good facility and you'll be around for many many years. BTW please complete the following (optional).

He knew he had cancer over a year prior but refused biopsy as he was caught up trying to care for his mother with Alzheimers and closing business. I was not told. I just remember when he started with a cough he could t fight. One met in lung. He was officially dx when his pelvis fractured as his bones all filled with Mets. He regrets this obviously, but he went into chemo and Lupron and radiation immediately... Could barely stand for my grandma's funeral and radiation helped his pelvis immensely. My goal is to spread awareness for early testing.

Poor Dad, all at once...and at 61 years old... I spread the word about Pca.... so many men don't know about their prostates (At one time I was one of them - not any more). I don't know if this would apply to his lung issue, but I was treated successfully for my lung melanoma using Keytruda. Well your sweet Dad is fortunate enough to have you watching over him. Tell him you want a raise in salary..... 🥳

Unfortunately he now has smoldering leukemia. Got very sick by father's day. No Dr checked when he could not breathe so he's needed transfusions and other infusions and is castrate resistant and in a stage 2 clinical trial of a chemo I know nothing about. He deserves the award and the salary for 46 years of me and still knowing I was depressed stopped here in the snow bc I won't take any calls rt now. Just trying not to break
