Swollen scrotum?

Has anyone had swollen scrotum.?? This started about 2 weeks ago, at same time he went off trial as new nodes found in clavicle area. Recent biopsy confirmed it is PCA!! The doctor has no idea what is reason for the swelling. Not painful but uncomfortable, ultra sound showed nothing. Also one ankle swells on occasion, ultrasound negative on that as well. Could this be something to do with lymph system as he has multiple nodes? He is so depressed, fatigue etc and just looks terrible. A month ago looking at him you would never know he had cancer, yet now he looks drawn, thin and just miserable. I am so worried. He has appointment with oncologist Tuesday. He is suggesting another clinical trial, but we are reluctant. He has been on 2 so far, psa just rises, nodes were stable until now. Also suggested more chemo, had doxetaxal years ago that he tolerated well. He is only 63 and has been fighting this for now about 11 years. any thoughts?? thanks judymin

It sounds like lymphocele or lymphedema - maybe talk to a vascular surgeon.

Swollen scrotum may or may not be due to PCa. He might have Orchitis..Infection and inflammation of testicles which may require antibiotics like Doxycycline.....OR. He may have Hydrocele ..fluid overload in scrotum...OR ..lymphedema. .Lymph accumulation due to blockade of lymph circulation. .let your Doctor evaluate for all these possible causes.
