Hopeful my Jeff responds to carboplatin/cabazitaxel

My Jeff had labs Monday and his 2nd infusion of carboplatin/cabazitaxel Tuesday.

Labs proved disappointing. Jeff’s PSA is up from 76.5 to 101.

Jeff’s oncologist said “lets not worry yet”. Jeff is scheduled for additional labs and another PET scan starting mid December. Hopefully by then the chemo is working its magic.

I feel like we’ve been in limbo the last 3 weeks and still feel that way. We had so hoped his PSA would have dropped, even a little, for a bit of peace of mind.

Jeff is actually still feeling pretty good and has managed to go to the gym a few times. He amazes me at every turn.

We “fired” his oncologist, which proved to be a huge, stressful, ongoing fiasco, but that was entirely resolved at his appointment on Monday. I’ll refrain from detailing all the drama, but will say we were pleased with the final outcome.

I’m sorry to add about Jeff’s disease. I know the disappointment of not seeing PSA drop right away. PSA can go up from cancer cell death releasing it into the bloodstream, so the first reading after a new treatment can be misleading.

I’m glad you were able to take charge, and get an oncologist you trust. I think watching it closely and testing regularly is the right thing to do. There are lots of knowledgeable members that might have concrete suggestions for a treatment path.

Hang in there Jeff! Love isthe best asset . He’s got that in spades. There is no sugar coating APC . My wife just saw a “ you’re fired” bumper sticker as we drove home. She cracked up laughing so hard. You are advocating for him. Great job. I hope that these holidays are full of love for each other. Thanks for checking in. Much love to the kids ! ❤️🙏
