True I always tell my family yes my husband has Prostate cancer and there’s no cure. Then I say but no one knows how long they have to live. Your friend was an example you never know when. So sorry for your loss and his family❤️🙏

Same experience here. My cousin's husband fought leukemia for 30+ years alongside me fighting Pca. He passed away last week.

My sister died last year of multiple myeloma after 10+ years of punishing therapy. In the end, she knew she couldn't take another cycle of therapy so she called it a day.

For a time, she went swimming every day & was very active. I said to her once - we both have cancer, but at least we have our health.

It occurred to me years ago that much that I was doing was likely to reduce my risk of other diseases. For example, if you subscribe to "Heart healthy is prostate healthy" as I do, you wonder how that might increase other mortality risks.

For the most part, we have the luxury of making life-style changes not afforded to those with pancreatic or lung cancer. Countless men who are pre-diabetic, pre-heart attack or pre-something else, never get appropriate intervention from their doctors. They never get the wake-up call that we had,

My best friends son in law was just crossing the street with his family at only 50 yrs old and a blood clot passed him out and he got run over in the street by a car and died in front of his four kids. Wtf? This was 2 days ago. Married 22 yrs with kids. Tragic ! 😩
