Good luck!

I've been thinking about having that done also, I mean, they serve no purpose any longer.

yes have it done. total time from admission to the outpatient surgery center was 2.5 hours. doctor was great. he specializes in robotic surgery and could easily have an enlarged ego but not Dr. Adam Kaplan. great bedside matter, explains everything and is both cheerful and concerned today (surgery was yesterday) no bleeding no pain. in fact my back pain and peeing pain is gone too which i do not understand. all i got is an oxycodone which i don't think could still have effects. is it possible that the worthless balls in response to firmagon were producing some sort of inflammation? will have a better idea later today but if this is the case, good riddance for another reason.

cajones fairy works together with th underwear gnome. still those tiny grape sized nuts an do a lot of damage protducing testosterone for the PC. i do think that turning them off with firm is gone can have additional side effedcts.most of the effets due to taking ADT ate the effects of no testosterone but i think there are other sie=de effects of the drug elsewhee and or in changing the testes in other ways producing other irritants that affect other organs,

I hear that … I’m the “ no T “ Lupron side effects Cosco warehouse. Get yer bulk packs of side effects here yayahahahaya. I wish it were grape sized , peanut or even BB ….but alas I have absolutely … not even those. Mine are quite literally gone. I suspect they have crawled up into my abdomen and currently fighting all my pickle sized tumors for real estate. My T has been undetectable for about 36 months, so far ….. its like you said tho, getting there is costly … literally crippling in my case. Welp the adventure continues tho and that’s pretty much my goal , so I’m good with it , or the lack of yayahahahaya yayahahahaya We’re still here and having this fun conversation… that’s the main thing …

Was done 6.5 years ago Tuesday for me. FIRST thing I did for my GL10. Fastest 10 pound weight loss I ever had. "10 pounds of BALLS can fit in a 5 pound sack" was noted by Pathologist when making sure there was no cancer. Made bicycling those 100 mile rides way comfortable!!! DON'T need to wear a "cup" when subbing for team's catcher.

I can finally hit the HIGH NOTES and got a phone call from THE METROPOLITAN OPERA to perform ---

This is actually on my turf. I hate how breast cancer in Australia and I'm sure other parts of the world gets disproportionately greater support and publicity to prostate cancer . And I have lost both a sister (at age 57) and now a daughter (at age 50) to that daemon. Breast reconstruction is routinely offered to women, just as a matter of course. Why not balls for men?

spencoid2 profile image
spencoid2 in reply toBigdo58

I was offered prosthetic balls but declined. I bicycle a lot and since I have no real use for the balls ( i am married and my husband doesn't care either and I am too old to bother with another relationship) and figured it would only be more comfortable without them. I am so sorry for your loses. My sister is going through he BC thing now.

Bigdo58 profile image

Completely understand, good you were offered and it was your specific choice in your life circumstances, to decline. Hope your sister lives long and prospers.

Funnily enough I was considering this as an alternative to Hormone therapy then after some research I found that the good old adrenal gland strangely also produces Testosterone albeit in small quantities which the Surgeon that was going to carry out the orcidectomy confirmed - Who knew ! - I thought it was there to produce adrenelin ! - he did say if I had the operation that they supply faux testes similar to Breast augmentation procedure I was led to believe - thankfully my PSA has dropped from an initial 41 using XTANDI - kindest Raoul - it is definately going to be in reserve though if and when the PSA starts increasing again !

addicted2cycling profile image
addicted2cycling in reply toraoulmaher

Meds are available to make Adrenal T not an issue and no side effects. IMO, it's way better living life without fake nuts to replace the *BOYS.* Bicycled an easy 50 miles before breakfast this morning and real glad nothing much was between saddle and body.

Mascouche profile image
Mascouche in reply toaddicted2cycling

The meds you are talking about for adrenal T... Are you talking about those like Zytiga? Just asking because zytiga has side effects though maybe not as bad as Lupron

addicted2cycling profile image
addicted2cycling in reply toMascouche

Thought -- Avodart - Dutasteride, Finasteride lowered but could be mistaking

VCinTx profile image
VCinTx in reply toMascouche

Zytiga side effects were massively worse than Lupron.

Mascouche profile image
Mascouche in reply toVCinTx

I guess it depends on the individual. I do have some side effects from Zytiga such as an increase in insulin resistance and a higher blood pressure. But after every injection of Lupron, which is every 4 months in my case, my QOL drops drastically for about 3 to 4 weeks during which I have more hot flushes, more severe brain fog, and a sharper drop in energy. So Lupron injections make me hate my life 3 months out of 12. If I had to do ADT for life, balls snipping would be an easy decision for me.

Bravo! Wife is very protective of our dog Mateo’s furry balls. But Could care less about my shrunken beans. Me either for that matter. Now getting my T from injections, two months on and two months off. Interesting roller coaster ride. But the PSA is behaving so far without adding ADT now 0.09

spencoid2 profile image
spencoid2 in reply toMateoBeach

I am keeping Darcy's adorable fuzzy balls too. If anyone in the dog park complains I will tell them I had mine removed instead.

jbskiatook profile image
jbskiatook

I had mine removed in January and then around April or May my I had a PP Implant For several reasons 1 you do not get theaprothy of the penis which means it doesn't get so small you can't get it out to urniate standing up number 2 you can have sex with it anytime you want 3 your self esteem is certainly increased and it makes you feel as if you're back in the pre prostate cancer life 4 you do not have to take any of those shot to keep your testosterone low and 5 my wife likes it as it is plump as normal. I say good decision I wish I had done it at least 5 years ago. Do look into PPI that you can pump it up and lower it down when you want to. Boston scientific is probably the best unit available.

CountryJoe profile image
CountryJoe in reply tojbskiatook

If you get your balls removed, does that mean that you no longer have to recieve ADT?

jbskiatook profile image
jbskiatook in reply toCountryJoe

Good question but in my case it did mean that I did not need to take them anymore and I would suspect that in anybody's case and your's would not have to take it anymore but I don't know that be true as a general rule.

CountryJoe profile image
CountryJoe in reply tojbskiatook

Thanks for getting back to me jb

spencoid2 profile image
spencoid2 in reply toCountryJoe

you don't need the Firmagon or Lupron or other ADT but you still need the drug that blocks uptake of adrenal generated testosterone. you will still have the side effects caused by no T but the statistics are better for orchiectomy vs ADT not a lot but significant.

Atlpapa profile image
Atlpapa in reply tojbskiatook

Sorry, I'm a little confused about the PP Implant you mentioned. I assumed you were talking about fake nuts but when you said "...look into PPI that you can pump it up and lower it down when you want to." I'm thinking you are talking about a penial implant, is that right?

jbskiatook profile image
jbskiatook in reply toAtlpapa

Yes that was a penial implant that I was talking about. The pumping unit takes up a fairly large amount of the scrotum so you don't miss your testicles.

Cooolone profile image

Been thinking about it... But not too sure yet, lol. You guys do sell a convincing argument!

I finally did it last year…the ADT had shrunk them to a grain of sand…With no end in sight, I had them removed. One less chemical in my system. I also had the inflatable installed at the same time.

Atlpapa profile image
Atlpapa

I've been on the fense about getting it done also. I know I'll be on ADT for life so whats the point of keeping my balls. Interesting feedback someone posted about getting the fake balls put in to prevent additional shrinkage, mine has already shrunk due to ADT. Would getting the balls chopped without some replacements cause it to shrink even more. That's scary 😳

If you have been chemically castrated for any length of time you probably won’t notice anything other than that fumbling with an empty sac is less fulfilling than fumbling with a full one.

i never spent a lot of time fumbling with my balls especially after they shrunk to raisin size. i look forward to biking once i heal. but i do miss the opportunity to play with myself in public adjusting my underwear. i can still play with my husbands balls if i feel the urge and my Poodle has the cutest of all. why do dogs get all the cute part?
