ADT Failure?

My PSA has increased from O.18 to 0.25 in one month. I am on Eligard and Zytiga. Since starting one year ago, my PSA had dropped from 340 to 0.18. I just received my third Eligard injection earlier this week and it had been six month and a week since the prior injection.

Is there ANY chance this is an aberration or has the androgen blockade started to fail?

It's still very low.

You should wait to have a clear trend the PSA is increasing

I would not consider that a significant increase. Hold tight and see what the PSA test shows.

When it fails, you will probably see a real trend UP not just a hick-up. Mine was 0.10-0.13 for about 3 years and then 0.15- 0.24- 0.32- 0.59- and 1.41. Up , up and up. little bumps don't count. Trend will be obvious when it arrives. Best of luck to you. My PSA latest ,1.36, 0.91. All monthly readings. Now going the right direction after radiation and Provenge... Life is Good, picking beats and swiss chard today.. last week was apples by the bushel .

Could be simply a Margin of Error in the tests. Lab process, tests, etc might cause it. Had the same thing about 2 months ago. Get another test in 2 weeks which will show more.

Wait for at least 3 readings trending in the same direction. Maybe more.

These tests are just not that accurate and the PSA levels are just going to vary from day to day just like your blood pressure readings.
