My recent bone scan showed several mets on my spine as a result of recent leg pain starting last month. Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the treatment given by MO/ RO? I have appt with RO tomorrow and MO after that. Any thoughts?

Spine met causing burning leg pain and numbness
Often, they can be zapped with SBRT, but a neurological consult may be a good idea.
Discuss getting an MRI to determine if the mets are causing the problem or you have degenerative problems in the spine which is causing the pain. The mets could be treated with radiation if it is possible to do it without affecting the nerves or the spinal cord.
Had same problem, given an MRI scan which showed spinal canal encroachment at L3, now due for one dose of radiotherapy tomorrow. This is taken very seriously in UK due to possibility of permanent mobility problems. Will post again after tomorrow. Good luck
I used/ use Indomethicin to successfully zero pain for 10 months since Dec2020., play soccer and golf etc CT shows no encroachment on spine. Minor pain now from mid spine T8 to T12 Mets for couple of weeks . CT scan shows no significant progression. PSA <0.1. I will get some radiation to the area and get Lu177 hopefully (I am PSMA lights up) when FDA approved. I advocate for myself. On Zytiga and Zoladex for 3 years 9 months. I am chemo naive but that is an option too if / when radiation and Lu177 fail.
As a 40yr Chiro as well as myofascialologist something I do to help my back thigh pains and function as well as prescribe to many people are piriformis tennis ball massages and stretches. Do this both sides!!! Get a massage therapist to treat it. There are many reasons as to what is causing your symptom expression
Get an MRI first to determine what’s going on. If Mets are encroaching on spine you’ll probably have to do radiation. That’s what my brother did.
Hi. Lake sure you get a MRI of the whole spine to rule out an encroachment of a nerve route and avoid a spinal corde compression, which is a neurological emergency. Mets there would require SBRT.
I had numbness and later paralysis in my leg from spine mets (T7/6). Couldn't walk unaided. Had surgery to remove vertebrae and replace with titanium alloy frame. In the 18 months before surgery had beam radiation therapy (worked well for a while), also Xofigo (didn't work well). Many scans, of course. 10 months after surgery, I can walk.
Not exactly. Had docetaxal in 2017 but severe allergic reaction so stopped after one shot. After spine surgery (Nov/Dec 2020), had beam radiation to cancer cells around T7/6.
