I am currently off the Lupron train again. Second time. I am guessing this will be good for close to a year before my doctor freaks out again. With PSA doubling at a rate of 5-6 weeks he gets nervous. I however do not fear it anymore. The Lupron works really well to put my cells to sleep. Takes about two 3 month doses and we are back to the crappy feeling the goes with the slew of side effects from it. The hood news is that 6 years ago the doctor thought I would progress rapidly and be losing a unbeatable fight. Not true and I think the way things are going I will be around for a long time. I have lost so many family and friends to worse issues than I have. I have been blessed with the one illness that can be fought. Don't get me wrong this sucks really bad some times but the alternative is far worse.

Vacation never meant this much before.
Why are you taking Lupron in the first place? Recurrent? Newly diagnosed metastatic? Non-metastatic? Castration-resistant?
recurring after bicalutamide then lupron then zytiga with prednisone. psa down to .20 from 1.87
Sorry. I had persistent PSA following surgery. 9.4 post surgery.
Love your attitude!Hugh
Thanks for posting that—it’s exactly how I feel about intermittent therapy. I watch as my husband’s fatiguegets worse and cognitive changes occur when on Xtandi
but so far it takes the psa down and then he’s able to get off of it for a few months. Readjustment going back on is
tough but worth those months of feeling better. Good luck to you and enjoy your “vacation”!
Insofar as you're able to take vacations, you may consider switching to relugolix, an oral LHRH antagonist that enables rapid T recovery when stopped.
Have u considered switching to estradiol patches? Much easier on ur body.
