Radiation proctitis

Have posted before but all treatments have failed to improve condition.

I have severe rectal bleeding that requires blood transfusion and iron infusion. Quality of live is terrible. Often can’t leave the house due to bleeding that can last for hours.

Feeling lost as to where to turn or who to turn to. See profile for treatments tried. Is surgery my only option at this point? All suggestions welcomed.

Have you tried blue light laser or argon plasma resurfacing?

Tall_Allen thanks for the reply. Tried 1 treatment of argon gas. Dr wasn’t comfortable doing follow up. Felt he could do more harm than good. Blue light laser completely new to me. Will do some research.

I think the preparation is worse. Special diet and fluids with a lot of things not do do or eat or drink.

I had radio frequency ablation which stopped bleeding . First I had a colonoscopy to determine extent of damage.
