So it's official...after an MRI, two planning scans, an "advanced imaging" scan, they cannot do EBRT to the prostate due to all the hardware.
So the local RO has passed it back to UCSF. Dr Mohamad will discuss with the board Friday (which was last Friday) about brachytherapy. With the constant bad news I'm afraid they're going to throw in the towel. Don't know how long the ADT can hold down the Fort if the prostate doesn't get put out of commission. And why it took almost 3 months to figure out they couldn't do it, I'll never know. The yes, no, maybe, hurry, wait....frustrating and discouraging.
As of today, Tuesday, no word from UCSF. Now I'm even more afraid they won't do the Brachytherapy. Does it seem unusual to not hear anything yet?
Have they given up on Jim?
Should we go elsewhere?
I don't think I can get him to go to UCLA.
Thanks, Again, for listening.

Thank you TA. Sounds bleak. The RO at UCSF felt Jim had "many many years, even as much as 10" with all the available treatments and new stuff coming down the pike. Sounds not so promising now.
I'm worried how no treatment is going to effect Jim's view of his condition, i.e. they are giving up because he's "hopeless". That could hurt his "fight" psychologically .
