Cancer Is Not a Disease!: It’s a Survival Mechanism

Has anyone read the above book by Andreas Moritz? We are listening to the audio book which is free from the following link. There is some interesting information but also some obvious contradictions and probably a fair amount of bullshit?

I have not listened to the whole book but I am not convinced about the alternative treatment. I am not going to quit conventional ADT and whatever follows unless ???

I am more likely to follow some of the suggestions in addition to conventional treatment.

It's amazing that some use pseudoscience to sell books to people with cancer.

It is amazing that his books are so popular. I hope a lot of people are not following his advise. I am listening to the book because 1 it was free 2 although i do not have to paper book to allow me to check references, his quoting of many studies and opinions of what sound like reasonable experts point to some serious omissions in studying cancer. He also has a lot to say about clinical trial sponsored by drug companies etc. I have heard most of what I think is true in the book from other sources. The basic idea that Cancer is not a disease is a bit difficult for me to swallow :) You have to read the book to see the good points, the contradictions, some very obviously questionable theories and some of what at this point sounds like BS I have only listened to 3 chapters of god knows how many and it is very repetitive. I almost always finish a book if I start it but maybe not this one. I think 4 or 5 chapters is probably enough to get the good points.

When posting a link like that, many will take it as an endorsement.

I tried to make it clear that I though the book's main premise is difficult to accept and likely BS. However there are many points made that make a lot of sense. Moritz quotes a lot of clinical trials and meta studies (i do not have the paper book so can not find the references if they are in the original book) that suggest that current cancer treatment is not effective in most cases. Of course I don't know of anyone "curing" cancer with his methods and do not recommend following them and abandoning conventional treatment as bad as it is.

You are a sitting duck for quacks like that. Here are some characteristics to help you identify pseudoscience:

Our society has proven its fear of science and its ability to muddy knowledge and fact thru the lens of political mistrust within the past year and a half. We have a Dark Ages mentality looking for a patent medicine cure.

Europe survived the dark ages, I wonder if we can.

While I do not endorse the book as gospel , I have read it and did enjoy it. It's where I first learned about saw palmetto. That supplement definitely isn't a cure but taking it has made it easier for me to urinate and I stopped having to wake up to pee at night. At least it did until I began my radiation therapy but hopefully after my treatment ends next Tuesday, I will go back to having uninterrupted sleep after the urethra irritation subsides.

His perspective that cancer is not out to get you but instead it is trying to give you a little more time to make changes to your life did bring me a measure of peace of mind for a little while though, again, I do not think anything contained in it is a cure for advanced cancer.

However some of the stuff in it can help increase your quality of life (getting enough sleep, eating well, etc...) so its not all bad.
