Myhubby58 went to Dr today.. The Dr told him about a new trial that’s not even approved by FDA yet.. RU33 or something like that.. it is a type of radiation treatment to kill cancer cells, but what else does it kill .. I say no, just live out your life and do healthy regimen.. But Myhubby58 wants to try it…Thoughts Please

Do you mean Ra 233 (Xofigo)? Great stuff! Great for pain. It was FDA approved in 2013.

Or you may mean Lu-177-PSMA-617? Also great stuff! Not FDA approved yet but the clinical trial data has been released, and it looks very good. It seems to be more toxic than Xofigo, but tolerable for most, and it also reduces pain. There are several ongoing clinical trials in the US where he can get it already:

Tall Allen, I see in your Blog, at the bottom of list is a Phase II study with I-131-MIP-1095. Goal was to cut PSA by 50% where Zytiga had failed. Do we know the results, or progress, yet of that study? Thanks,

Mike

If you mean Xofigo, it's OK. I took it for the 6 week treatment and it worked great. Few side effects.

It can be hard on your body as well. Patrick Turner had 1 treatment and passed pretty soon after being told his platelets too low for a second treatment.

I had a bone met in my hip that had already been irradiated. It started to flare again, so xofigo was the only option. The pain subsided and I haven't had any problems for the last seven years.
