Chemo too strong

The only alternative myhubby58 had was to try a chemo treatment combo .. He tried it and almost died from it because it was too strong..He has told the Dr. that was enough and he can’t handle that.. Myhubby58 has stage4 and it has spread to all of his organs such as,liver, lymph nodes, lungs, bones, trachea and he is always in constant pain.. I’m so afraid of loosing him but all at the same time.. I don’t want to be selfish..

Comments please….

I understand what you are feeling I have been there many times- it’s hard and let your love for him fill up where you are feeling the fear. ❤️

Would he be willing to try Jevtana (cabazitaxel), perhaps at a lower dose combined with carboplatin? Some men tolerate it better than docetaxel.

Having just lost my husband on Monday after chemo failure and tumors throughout organs and bones, I can truly say I do not think you could possibly be wrong to feel that way.

Living has to be living, not just breathing and suffering.

🙏I pray for your miracle for you and if it’s not coming I pray for you to have strength and all the support you need to make it through the hardest of times. 🙏

One thing that did help my husband for pain before the end was palliative radiation (in prostate, and the largest most painful lymph node, lung, shoulder, hip, and rib METs). The treatment made him tired but the pain became manageable with opioids after and he was no longer coughing up blood from the lung.

I don't know how I will feel in the future but currently I think that quality of life is a lot more important than quantity. If you have an advanced terminal disease for which there is no cure what is the point in extending your misery unless you have certain things you feel you need to accomplish before dying. I alternate between caring about transitioning my sister's business to function without me and not giving a shit. I try to accept the bad days and appreciate the good ones but there may be a point at which the good is not worth the bad.

We are stage 4 apc and using Fenbendazole/aronia berries as first line of treatment. No chemo/radiation or adt. It’s is week 15 and 11 tumors are down , main one in sacrum by 50%. Pca dropped 120 points. Plants based diet, no dairy no mea or eggs, alkaline 80% raw diet. It is working and our oncologist agreed this week we are getting Better result than if we started chemo so keep going. Do your research.:. It is a dog anti parasite but it Is working on 1000’s of people.

My wife are in a similar situation, although not as far down the road as your hubby. I am stage 4, with mets, currently on Zytiga. We have discussed openly our wishes- along the road, and even the end of the road. She knows what I want, and will respect any decision I make- even if it appears to her too soon to stop everything. Hopefully, that is a long time away for your hubby and all of us. But, I have no intention of sticking around in pain. Hopefully, you have talked about this together. I hope it will make the transition easier for you both.

You might check my reply below. Zytiga quit for me. Did a lot of research and believe blocking cancer cell metabolism is the way to fight it. Janes book will show you how.

🙏prayers for mercy! ❤️

I am stage 4 castrate resistant PCa, with mets to pelvis and liver. May I ask what chemo he was on? I started on docetaxel in April. Had 3rd infusion 06-08. Knowing the doctors did not have much for me, I have spent hundreds of hours research and reading medical articles, looking for alternatives. I have found there are many drugs, supplements, and natural substances that have anti-cancer effects. I am currently taking 4 off-label meds, which my MO scripted. metformin, mebendazole, atorvastatin, doxycycline. Also supplements, ECGC, curcumin, quercetin, resveratrol, loratadine, berberine, alpha lipoic acid. Plus vitamins.

Some of these reduce the side effects of chemo. (I believe it has helped me). Some of these enhance the effectiveness of chemo so smaller dosing can be done (less side effects). Some suppress PCa metabolism, essentially cutting off the it's food supply, starving and weakening the cancer. Some kill cancer.

Time is critical for you. You have not got the time for research. May I suggest you look up Care Oncology Clinic (in UK and US). They can help you with the off-label meds.

No, this is not SOC, but the drugs are FDA safe for human use, just not approved for cancer. I also recommend a book by Jane McLelland, How to Starve Cancer. She pioneered the use of these off-label drugs. there are many people reporting total remission, NED, from stage 4 cancer. I am hoping by November I will be one of them.

The main point here is the drugs and supplements are safe, virtually no side effects, and could possibly save his life.
