Urologist Cincinnati area

My friend in Cincinnati (area) is looking for a good urologist because his PSA went from 2.1 to 4.0 in 1 year and his current urologist said lets wait at least 6 months which I am not a fan of. Basically his numbers are same as mine were 18 months ago and I ended up with a G-9 and T3b. Thanks for help!

Tell him to ask for the Prostate Health Index (PHI) test instead of a PSA.

His urologist said not to worry about it, just come back in 6 months, so I think time to change docs. Any suggestions in the area?

Yes. Try Chris Weight, urologist, or Sharps Gupta, oncologist. They're both at Cleveland Clinic. I received excellent care from them while they were at the U of Minnesota Medical Clinic.

It can help avoid unnecessary biopsies.

My dad stayed in remission for 7 years....I got him off Lupron. You want androgen deprivation ? Are you crazy? My dad had a radical prostatectomy at 75. At 85 he walked into his doctors office and he ran a psa it was 20!! 6 months of Lupron put him under 1. Of course he looked and felt like the living dead. I convinced my dad to use 8 to 10 mg of topical progesterone .....he stayed in remission for 7 years until he passed away at 93.The urologists don't make money on things like progesterone but they do make a big hit on Lupron............they don't know or understand progesterone. After a conversation with my dad's doctor. I knew he was going to bark at him and make him feel stupid. So I went to his office with him. I hid behind the door. When the doctor walked in he went at his throat, he didn't want to loose that $500.00 / shot reimbursement....................A PSA of 4 is nothing.

One day those andogen blockers stop working that's went your real problems start.. Don't over use them.....period!

Am on ADT and going great. My doctors there have been very responsive and caring. I saw Dr Bey as Urologist and Dr Delworth for surgery and ongoing oncology,
