Your putting dog dewormer in your body. Think about it, surely you can't be that desperate.

I am under the impression there is no difference in the medicine. Just in the name.

Mebendazole is actually prescribed for humans. But many use fenbendazole as well. They're very similar.

OK you got all the jollys. Some of us, me included started fenben before there was the other on the market. It followed when results started showing a benefit. I use the goat medicine as it comes in bottle for way less $$ than the vet for dog kind. Merck safe-guard fenbendazole 125 ml bottle $26. 2.4 ml with a 3 ml syringe in my morning coffee 3 days on and 4 days off. 55 doses of liquid, so way easier. Still don't have the old goat smell back in my sweat.

Funny. My daughter has some farm animals and offered the liquid that she uses on the animals. Did not take her up on it since I did not know if they were the same. She has two miniature goats Really. I will let you know if I get the ole Billie smell.

I've been using fenben 14 months now. I haven't drawn any conclusions yet, but all is stable so far.

FenBen and Meben are very similar but not identical. Mebendazole is approved for humans but Fenbendazole is approved only for animals. If one wants to be on dewormer.. Mebendazole is preferable as this is in Care Oncology (UK) protocol .

Care oncology will provide it?

I heard from someone that CareOncology based in UK and now have branches in USA provide their 4 re-proposed medicines for PCa for a cost of $60 per month. Prescription from your Doctor is not required. These 4 medicines are (1) Atorvastatin (2) Metformin (3) Doxycycline and (4) Mebendazole. And I believe that these are all included in the cost of $60 per month. You need to call and verify if this info is accurate or not.

from the Indian online pharmacy I use you can get (no prescriptions needed):* atorvastatin for 10¢-30¢ per pill or $3-$9/mo;

* 1000 mg metformin sustained release for 13¢ per pill or $4/mo

* 100 mg mebendazole for 27¢ per pill or $8/mo;

* 100 mg doxy for 9¢ per pill or $2.70/mo.

The prices vary. I generally order large amounts so I cut down on shipping costs, but lately sometimes there's a limit because of supply problems due to covid. Other Indian pharmacies may be priced higher or lower, but in general India makes a huge percentage of the medications we use in the US and around the world . At this pharmacy you do have to pay $15 or so shipping, which is registered airmail; before the pandemic it would take about two weeks, now up to 3-4 weeks. But of course if you can get the same thing for an affordable price here the convenience would easily make up for the higher prices.

They ship to USA?

kapakahi profile image
kapakahi in reply to dhccpa

yes - theoretically the post office is supposed to get your signature when delivered (because it's registered mail) but that's become rare now, maybe because of short staffing

Won’t you become resistant to the powerful antibiotic doxycycline with continuous use?

lewicki profile image
lewicki in reply to podsart

Don't know.

podsart profile image

might consider asking your drs

lewicki profile image
lewicki in reply to podsart

Not sure why I would take an antibiotic.

kapakahi profile image
kapakahi in reply to podsart

I don't use doxy - just noting its availability - I've always wondered about its longterm use myself, for both resistance and toxic potential

I believe the recommended dose of the antibiotic is100 mg which, theoretically, is subclinical, meaning, among other things, at this strength it shouldn't kill off the good bacteria in your microbiome. Also, there are people who take antibiotics for acne for long periods of time at much higher doses. My oncologist would never write me a script for an antibiotic even when I said that I would only take 60 mg. He thought there was a danger of liver damage. The CARE Oncology doctors will give you the medication and, I assume, they will monitor your situation with the appropriate blood tests. Fenbendazole works for me: be sure to mix it with olive oil which enhances its bioavailability.--K

Kuanyin, "theoretically, it is subclinical, meaning, among other things, at this strength it shouldn't kill off the good bacteria in your microbiome." I'm the wife of a PCa patient, but as someone with Sjogren's for the last 20+ years, have experience with long-term doxy. 50 mg for the first many years, but then increased to 100 mg per the ophthalmologists for the last 14 years. In March of last year, I developed unrelenting diarrhea. Could not eat or drink anything for 12 weeks until I was prescribed Restora RX, a new scripted super probiotic. Initially, I thought perhaps covid, but it worked out my gut had had enough doxy. Eventually, I got better, but the ophthalmologist (saying there was no way the doxy was the culprit) put me right back on the doxy. This time I had 14 weeks of the no-eat, no-drink business. Restora RX worked again, but slower this time. No more doxy ever.

Hi Beth,There are members of this forum who have been taking Doxycycline (or Minocycline) for years and have never indicated any problems with habitual use. I agree with you, I, personally, would be hesitant to do so. Once the microbiome is disturbed I have heard that it may sometimes take years to reestablish gut balance. However, since you are a member of this forum, is your husband thinking of adding Doxycycline to his own regimen? If so, then perhaps he might want to contact the CARE Oncology people who have used this medication for quite some time in their protocol. There must be thousands of individuals taking the antibiotic on a regular basis with no major adverse reactions.

Kuanyin, having seen my reaction to 20+ years of Doxy (and having had to nurse me through 3 months of that, which was ugly), my husband is studiously trying to avoid long term use of any kind of antibiotic. In addition to prostate cancer, he has CLL, so he's exposed to antibiotics far too often anyway. Several years ago we were considering a consultation with Dr. Dattoli. We decided against because of his protocols, which we realized meant success for some. Neither of us would ever say never as regards any treatment for PCa, but hopefully it will not be soon.

I had a PSA of 20.3 two months ago, started a daily protocol of keto, resveratrol, 50K IU Vitamin D, 22 drops of 2% Lugol's in water and brought it down to 18.6 three weeks later to the surprise of of my GP. Finally got an appointment to see an urologist last week, and am getting another PSA test on Friday.

Adding Fenben next week (with DMSO solvent and Budwig diet mixture for bioavailability,) regardless of the new PSA result, for nine weeks (3 days on, 4 off.)

I've got enough Fenben coming for the 9-week course and will get a 4th PSA after that...all before submitting to a biopsy, as the urologist is hard selling...and is clearly all fired up to declare cancer and get me radiated.

I'm so naughty.

Will report results.
