Having had a vasectomy figure in, if at all, in fighting PC?

My latest MO mentioned in passing that having had a vasectomy was a favorable thing. Had mine about 50 years ago. Could that explain why PC didn't hit me until last year when I was 82?

While some retrospective studies found an increased risk of PC among men who had a vasectomy, a large prospective study and a meta-analysis ruled that out:

82 minus 50 = 32 and Gleason 4+4

MY VASECTOMY was 44 years ago at age 27

MY PCa WAS DIAGNOSED at almost 65

Diagnosis is 5+5 GLEASON 10

I had the snip at age 25, I was warned by my doctor of an increased risk of prostate cancer. 33 years later it arrived.

I think quite a few of these papers are just examples of lazy science and paper milling.

Dig up some data, run a statistical analysis, if it shows a link, good, a publication, if it does not show a link, never mind, we still have a publication.

'Blocking' the sperm delivery system had nothing to do with PCa ....

No. But you can enjoy grandchildren without paying for any more orthodontists, etc. Be happy with the life and relationships you have.

Hi SB11!!! Many of us here waited until later in life to have a very expensive vasectomy = Radical Prostatectomy! Good luck as you embark on The Road to Cure!
