Higher AST and ALT levels, from Covid vaccine nanoparticles or from Orgovyx ADT pills, or both

I got results of my AST and ALT this week and they were higher than they have ever been, on the high end of normal- 36 and 34, but they are usually in the mid 20s. Should I be concerned about these levels? The increase is probably a combination of the Orgovyx and the Vaccine. Lupron never raised my liver enzymes AST ALT levels. Here is a snyopsis of possible causes for the vaccine and then Orgovyx:

The article below says the mnra vaccines could raise inflammatory markers for a "long time".

Do you think it is from the Pfizer covid vaccine nanoparticles:

"Lipid Nanoparticles Are Highly Inflammatory

mRNA fragility and instability is the reason why Pfizer and Moderna use a lipid nanoparticle delivery system, which brings a whole separate set of problems. Scientist and researcher Judy Mikovits, Ph.D., believes the nanoparticle allows the mRNA to escape the normal degradation by enzymes that normally remove mRNA, thereby allowing it to persist in your tissues for a long time, continuing to produce spike proteins all the while.

As previously suspected, research30 posted March 4, 2021, on the preprint server bioRxiv now warns that the lipid nanoparticle component of these mRNA vaccines is in fact “highly inflammatory” and may be responsible for many of the side effects being reported. According to the authors:

In mice, Intradermal injection of these LNPs led to rapid and robust inflammatory responses, characterized by massive neutrophil infiltration, activation of diverse inflammatory pathways, and production of various inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. The same dose of LNP delivered intranasally led to similar inflammatory responses in the lung and resulted in a high mortality rate …

Their potent adjuvant activity and reported superiority comparing to other adjuvants in supporting the induction of adaptive immune responses could stem from their inflammatory nature. Furthermore, the preclinical LNPs are similar to the ones used for human vaccines, which could also explain the observed side effects in humans using this platform.”

Or could the AST ALT be from the Orgovyx - "increase liver enzymes"

"Starting on Orgovyx ADT pills: (ORGOVYX may cause serious side effects including heart rhythm problems because of changes in electrical activity (QT prolongation). ORGOVIX may cause harm to an unborn baby.

The most common side effects of ORGOVYX include hot flushes, increased blood sugar levels, increased blood fat (triglyceride) levels, muscle and joint pain, low red blood cell count (anemia), increased liver enzymes, tiredness, constipation and diarrhea."

First the basic fact: ALT, AST, Bilirubin ...these are liver enzymes which are produced by liver in normal state but in a normal range. For ANY reason, if liver comes under pressure,,, be it a disease, a medication or any other cause.

Yes. Covid19 vaccine can increase ALT and AST. Lupron like meds and Relugolix can also increase ALT and AST. If the increase is within 1 to 2 times the upper normal, it generally not considered very serious. Higher the AST and ALT, worse the damage to Liver. Mostly, the levels comes down back to normal. A persistently and continuously rising AST and ALT is not good and your Doctor needs to do further evaluation and assess damage to liver.

Bottomline: Monitor and note pattern of rise of AST and ALT , make a chart and discuss it with your Doctor.

Makes sense. That's what I was thinking but wanted to get other opinions. The covid toxicity should reduce over time and I can always switch away from Orgovyx if I want/need to.

If AST and ALT keep rising then it is prudent to switch away from Relugolix. Zytiga also causes liver injury in many people.

makes sense. Ya, I also dont know if zytiga is appropriate for me because it seems to have more side effects related to the heart. I have coronary artery disease. I suppose that xtandi, nubeqa or erleada would be easier on my arteries. I think those three have some level of liver toxicity increase, right?

Bicalutamide has least harmful effects on heart and Liver. Enzalutamide (extandi) is intermediate...And Abiraterone (Zytiga ) has most harmful effects on heart and liver..and blood sugar...But we need to pick our poison and pray that it does not cause too much harm.

what about erleada and nubeqa?

As long as it is in normal range, there is no need for concern.

When I started on Zytiga 1000mg in 2019 my ALT and AST went up after 5 months. My Doc cut the Zytiga in half to 500 mg per day and I am still there with undetectable PSA!

awesome - what are your ast and alt numbers now?

ALT = 18, AST =20.....Still on 500 mg Zytiga, 5 mg Prednisone, and 6 mon Lupron with PSA undetectable at this time. Had Prostatectomy Jan 7, 2019 and PSA went up by June 2019. Started with Lupron and 1000mg Zytiga in July 2019. AST and ALT went up in Nov 2019 and that is when Doc reduced to 500mg Zytiga. Get Bloodwork every month to stay on top of changes.

A good lesson here is to create a baseline of data BEFORE starting ADT. I begin with Orgovyx in two days. My oncologist and cardiologist have put me through many baseline blood tests over the past two weeks as well as an Axumin scan and EKG. I am also wearing a Zio heart monitor starting yesterday for two weeks to see if there are any early changes to heart rhythm. Armed with data we'll be able to see what changes result from the Orgovyx.

Your doctor is great. Mine is worthless and wouldn’t order blood tests so I’m going to fire him next week. The only thing that has changed for me is ast and alt

When did you have your Pfizer Covid-19 VAX injection GeorgeGlass?Just wondering about mine. Had 1st Pfizer VAX March 8th. No SE'

to speak of at all. The morning of March 8th I had my 3 month Cancer blood labs the whole works, CBC, CMP, PSA. and T-Levels. No abnormal readings, but that was Monday AM.

My Pfizer jab was Monday PM.

Friday March 12th I then went to see my MED Onc down in Indy for results and my Fun Lupron 3month injection. Still no SE's. I too am concerned about my heart cardiac health.

So, back up to March 1st I had my RA(right atrial) pacing lead revision insertion in my fav EP lab. They did more blood tests, but that was before My Pfizer injection. My fear was not going back into AFIB, serious persistent consistent AFIB. I have not!

I'm up for my 2nd Pfizer Covid-19 VAX next Monday AM. WIsh me well.

Let me us know about when you did get your Pfizer VAX, I may have missed it.

My first shot was March 5th and the second is in 11 hours from now Doug. I hope it's a walk in the park for ya. I dont really want to get it but I'm doing it very reluctantly. The orgovyx doesnt seem to be straining my heart but I do feel other things in my body that are weird. The QT in the heart can be affected so you'll want to get that tested. talk soon!

Thxs. Just a quick note. I do not exhibit a long QT syndrome, my EP’s call it.

My pacemaker does a good job monitoring HR and i also have my Merlin at Home remote transmitter functioning if needed. I’m doing well post RA lead revision my incision in upper left chest healing well.

Thxs for caring.
