Do any of you have the cdk12 mutation? Is it very rare? Is it more aggressive than other mutations? My husband got his shot of Lupron today his Urologist has never even heard of that mutation. He said mutations are geared more towards Oncology however that’s not one he has ever heard of. Even my husbands Oncologist hasn’t heard of it.

CDK12 Mutations are subject to current research. I think there are trials which test new drugs addressing the CDK12 Mutation to see if these provide a benefit.

If you order a gene test this often includes a test for CDK12. But there is nothing definite you can conclude for your current situation based on this mutation alone.

I already directed you to trials for it. Did you ask his oncologist to look at them?

You know he told me to find them. I have no idea. I’m not a Dr. I’m so lost

I just told the Urologist what was going on and what mutation he had when he got his shot of Lupron. I talked in length to the Oncologist of course and he told me to try to find the trials.‘I have no idea as to where to find them.

It sounds like you are seeing a generalist MO but you need a specialist in APC as suggested by Nalakrats...someone who lives and studies Prostate Cancer specifically.

My brother also has CDK 12. He is looking to start Keytruda next. In addition to his CDK12, He has mismatch repair mutations msh2 and msh6 as well as a high mutational burden (hmb). My suggestion would be to get a Foundation One DNA test to look for mutations. You must have been tested at some point to learn about CDK12. What other mutations do you have? I would look into Keytruda as an option. Discuss this with an oncologist. Also, I didn’t look at all the trials that tall Alan included for you but certainly there will be a lot of information there.

How did your brother do on Keytruda? It is our only option right now.
