Hi,
Has anyone experienced swollen legs. I'm on Xtandi plus 3-monthe Lupron.
For men who are metastatic and castration resistant and taking Xtandi+ADT, peripheral edema was noted in 12% vs in 8% of those taking ADT alone.
Yes always have a Lasix on hand and a restroom near. One pill usually resolves the issue. Good luck.
My ankles have been swollen for years while I was on zytiga and xtandi.
Swelled up fine on full dose xtandi, but that was my least important side effect. Full dose tried to kill me.....
Peripheral edema developed in 12 to15% of patients taking Xtandi. Severe edema only in 1%.
Yes I did After docataxal legs and calves were swollen and painfull
I started walking daily
I increased my distance as I progressed
I did loads of riding as well not long distances but enough to create a sweat
Move those legs land crab
Loads of water and exercise in 1 month I was back to a reasonable speed and distance
The swelling is gone
No pain in the legs today at all
We all do it we limit ourselves thinking we are making matters worse
One thing that effects us most especialy Those on ADT
Is inactivity
You must move
Headphones with music you love will encourage you
A walk around the block
Days you feel a but better do it twice
B
Started yoga recently
Beginners
One of the best things I have ever done been putting it off for years
My flexibility is better now rhen when diagnosed
I was complaining, and looking for answers, about edema in my left leg for over two years. I finally got my answer from a vein doctor, who told me I have Lymphedema. This was as a result of having 27 lymph nodes removed from my groin area along with my prostate.
I am now getting specialized physical therapy for it, and it is controlling the swelling. I use a Velcro leg wrap and a Flexitouch pump from Tactile Medical each day. Both were covered by my insurance.
I get ankle swelling about every four months, never more than a day.
That began with me right after open RP surgery. My surgeon removed several nodes on the right side and since then my right lower leg and foot tends to swell. Its fine in the morning but if I don't keep active it will be swollen by end of day.
I have had swelling in my right shin and in both feet since treatment began more than 8 years ago. Wasn't sure if it was related to the 30+ lymph nodes removed (at the same time as when they removed my prostate) or if it was Lupron-related. Not sure it really matters which one is the cause. I think the swelling also negatively impacts my recovery from a total knee replacement, for which I have already required 2 follow up surgeries where they cut scar tissue and manipulated it.
If it is Lymphedema, I would highly recommend pressure socks. They improve lymph flow and are a good for most older people anyway.
I get Lymphedema from ADT and/or radiation most days when sitting at work, possibly because of how I cross my legs. I discussed a specific type of massage with my RO but since I can make it go away with exercise he said don't bother and keep doing what I am doing.
Got them too (two).... Red, swollen and hurt..... I'm raising my legs over my heart at bedtime.... I think it's because of a lack of sex..........
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
