I’m curious, my dad was walking on a cane before radiation with frequent pain spells because the cancer spread to the bones particularly the femur head. After his radiation treatment, he’s been in so much pain and now requiring the wheelchair. It’s been 5 days since. Is this normal?

My husbands reaction to radiation lasted 4-5 weeks. He was walking normally before but after radiation had to use a walker in the house and certainly no walking outside. Now after 6 weeks he is walking without a walker and is not in the same pain. There is cancer in the head of his femur as well. The RO increased his dexamethasone to reduce the inflammation when he had the extreme discomfort and that definitely helped.
