I think you onc will say, the rise is not that significant yet to change to different drugs. I would wait until the PSA value gets above 2.0 ng/ml. You could try to increase the dose of Abiraterone now. I cannot comment on the BNP marker.
Good news my CT abs/pelvis/chest and NM bone scan 11/17 showed no, absolutely none detected signs of cancer at those locations. No bone metasisis(sp).
I will call my cardio RN at 08:05 and leave a message. Hard to shake an answer from my Cardio team. They busy. Guess i’ll leave an urgent message. Re: BNP( oh that cardiac blood protein marker) also relates to my leg swelling from 4 days inpatient 12/4-7, acute diverticulitus. Flatbon my back w/ 2 IV’s antibiotics.
Thxs, I was so wanting an = to or lower PSA, then my BNP cardiac protein marker blood level of 404 pg/mL hit me from the same list of labs i got over whelmed.Well my Cardiologist visit last Friday told me my Leg swelling Edema probably caused by Prednisone. I tend to agree.
Plus i was inpatient in hospital Dec 4-7 with
Acute Diverticulitis. 4 days IV’s , Zoysn( piperacillion) , morphine, and potassium.
My BNP lab numbers (high) got me too over cautious with every lab test i had Tue.
Great to be Diverticulitis out of Hospital jail since 12-5.
Doug, are you taking BP medication? I’m particularly interested ifyou are taking possibly a calcium channel blocker (especially amylodipine) for blood pressure. I had Edema also. Apparently amylodipine caused Edema in 4 other case studies of BP management. A friend, who is a retired pharmacist, warned me that edema is consistent with calcium channel blockers and the way they work to reduce blood pressure.
Ooops i think my, i’m sure my newest Cardio Doc said Amlodipine can cause edema.. yes he did. He also stated that my Prednisone 5mg twice daily could cause leg feet swelling.
I be waiting for a rtn call from my Cardio RN still today...
